Byrd's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Worth Township

I stumbled upon this place by accident and I’m glad I did. The food is the Byrd Bomb I would’ve never thought to put pickles and cole slaw on top of chicken and fries but it works. My only gripe with the Oak Lawn location, in particular, is the night crew! I have to check my food before I leave because they keep messing up my order. I got all the way home one time and there was no 24k sauce on either order. My bf went in on a Sunday evening around 8pm and was told they weren’t taking any orders, although they were currently preparing an order for someone. The hours state that they close at 9pm so why aren’t you taking orders at 8pm?? Recently I ordered the same thing again, checked before I left and everything looked as it should. However, I get home, and there’s barely any cole slaw on either order. Also, I mentioned no spice on either order. My son mentioned that his was a little spicy and he couldn’t finish it. I noticed mine was spicy as well but could tolerate it. This is ridiculous that my order continues to be incorrect, or you’re turning away business because you don’t want to do your job. Took my wife and her sister along with her kids to give this place a try and I'm glad that we did. First the staff there is very friendly and welcoming. They answered all and any questions that we had about their menu items and did not make us feel rushed to order. We ordered a few things from the sandwich to the Byrd Bomb. Everything was delicious. The chicken was breaded and seasoned very well. The chicken itself was juicy, tender and full of flavor. They also had a new chicken wrap option that we tried and that did not disappoint either. It was very good too! Can't forget about the sides we tried the Mac and Cheese, fried green beans, and French fries. They were all great as well. My wife was surprised by how good and crispy the fried green beans were. Our food came out relatively quickly and we got everything we ordered. The portion sizes are great. New Owner Review: Wow and not in a good way. Rated 1 star because I had to. Not worth your time and money. Very disappointed. No flavor and definitely not what it tasted like. If you want chicken, stick to your go to spot or try another new spot.
