I have been a waitress for 8 years, and normally I don't write reviews unless there was a particular instance that stuck out to me. So here we are, writing a negative review, unfortunetly.
I was there earlier today and it was very sub-par. My husband, our daughter, and I wanted to go out for a nice lunch while our oldest two children were with their grandma, so we decided since we have never tried the Harvest Room before and they seemed like a 'healthier alternative' we would go there. Originally we were going to go to the Munster location that just opened on Monday, but after looking at the menus on the two sites, we noticed that pasta is served at the Palos location but not Munster and my husband was feeling like having pasta. Nowhere on the site did it say that dinner is served after 4.
So we arrived at the Palos location, were greeted and sat right away (we did not recieve a kids menu for our daughter though). Our waitor took 15 minutes to finally come and greet us. He was very awkward in manner, did not tell us his name, ask if we have been there before, or anything of the sort. As soon as he walked up to the table he said "can I get you something to drink other than water?" And we both said water was fine, and he walked away saying "I'll give you a few minutes" although we were already ready to order, mind you we were his only table.
He came back and my husband asked when dinner started and he told us it started at 4, which was very dissappointing. We then ordered and he was going to walk away before we had the chance to order food for our daughter. I got the Chicken Norris with fries, my husband had the Chicken Panini with fries and a side of truffle fries, and for our daughter we had gotten the steamed carrots and organic pasta and cheese. My Chicken Norris was delishous, the meat was nice and juicy, and it had the perfect ratio of toppings. That is what saved the review from being 1 or 2 stars. My husband did not like his panini and his truffle fries were just regular fries with shredded parmesan sprinkled on top, and our daughter would not touch her pasta, and she is a big mac n cheese lover. I tried one of her carrots and they were still very crunchy (shes 1 year old and can't have crunchy carrots just yet) and the pasta was very bland and had a weird sweetness to it. After our food arrived, our server was sat with a party of 10, of which only 3 were present the entire rest of our meal. When we were on our way out, the rest of his party had arrived. Our daughter started to act up by the time we were finished eating and we were ready to pay and leave, but our server was nowhere to be found. I eventually saw him behind the bar talking among other employees. I also noticed that he walked up to his party quite a few times while they were waiting for the rest of their party, whereas during our hour long visit, he greeted us, took our order, checked on us once, and gave us our bill. We had to ask someone else for boxes, and then we had to wait quite a long time for our server to bring the check. When he did finally bring the check he said "sorry for not showing my face more. I have a party of 10 that I'm getting things set up for" which I felt was a bad attempt to try and save his tip. We were just glad to finally be leaving. I used the bathroom before we left and it was filthy! There was water splashed over the whole counter, toilet paper was all over the floor, and both toilets were dirty. The staff in the server station that was next to us were also cussing quite a bit. I heard them use the "f word" atleast twice.
All in all, the food was just okay, the service was terrible, the bathrooms were dirty, and we will not be back. We may give the Munster location a try since it is new, but it may be a while before...
Read moreI recently checked out Harvest Room, and let me tell you, it's the kind of place that takes your brunch game to a whole new level.
First things first, let's talk about the vibe. Harvest Room has this cozy and welcoming feel that instantly puts you in a relaxed state of mind. The rustic decor, warm lighting, and comfy seats create the perfect setting for a chill and enjoyable brunch experience.
Now, let's dive into the star of the show – the food! I started off with the monkey bread, and boy, oh boy, it was pure deliciousness. This warm, gooey, cinnamon-infused bread was an absolute treat. It had just the right amount of sweetness and a melt-in-your-mouth texture that made my taste buds dance.
Next up was the Harvest breakfast with maple turkey sausage, and let me tell ya, it was a plate of pure yum. The maple turkey sausage had this sweet and savory thing going on that perfectly hit the spot. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the fresh fruit on the side added a refreshing touch. It was a well-balanced and satisfying breakfast that left me feeling ready to conquer the day.
And of course, what's brunch without some mimosas, am I right? The mimosas at Harvest Room were on point! The champagne was quality and made for a nice beverage.
One thing that really impressed me about Harvest Room was the use of fresh, quality ingredients. The attention to detail and commitment to using top-notch ingredients were evident in every bite. I love that they have a menu that accommodates meat eaters and vegetarians.
Oh, and I can't forget to mention the amazing service. The staff at Harvest Room were super friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. They knew their stuff, gave awesome recommendations, and made sure my brunch experience was absolutely fantastic.
To sum it up, Harvest Room is a brunch paradise that deserves all the praise. From the mouthwatering monkey bread to the flavorful Harvest breakfast, every bite was a delight. The cozy atmosphere, combined with stellar service, created an unforgettable...

I moved into town earlier this year, looking for a good goto breakfast spot. With these amazing reviews I figured I had found my new place. We had visited this location a couple of times before with a few red flags along the way. Since the food was good we wanted to give the wait staff the benefit of the doubt, especially because we had seen Bernadette had very unpleasant reviews. We visited Harvest Room over the weekend to celebrate a birthday. My friend and I were sat at our table and waited for the rest of the party to arrive. We decided to have a drink and appetizer while we waited. Before ordering a beverage we were asked for Identification, but i only have photo copies of my Drivers License and passport as my wallet had been stolen a week prior. We were told without physical copy that they would not be able to serve me alcohol. I understood and did not order. Our party then arrives, we order our drinks and have a bottle of champagne on ice at our table. The waitress later arrives to our table of 5 with 4 glasses of champagne. She set a glass down in front of a 15 year old child with out ever asking her or ANY of the new guest for their ID. The manager comes over and places the second glass of champagne in front of an adult whom wasn't ID'ed and later comes back and says "you've got to be kidding, i told you you couldn't drink!!!" and snatches the drink from our table. She starts raising her voice at us and says that we're the ones causing a scene and then calls the police on us for a mistake that MANAGEMENT AND WAIT STAFF MADE. This place is ridiculous and I can't believe these two still...
