Incredible beer garden, even better beer to drink in it! My friends and I did our best to find a "bad" beer, but alas, we were unsuccessful.
It was the first day the beer gardens were allowed to open by our illustrious Governor, and we felt obligated to patronize a local establishment. The obligation quickly turned into elation as we experienced the beauty, hospitality and craftsmanship that is One Allegiance. The beer garden is truly second-to -none, and the beer is of the same caliber. Of the 14 beers they have on tap, we tried roughly ten of them, and not a bad drop in the bunch. The service was just as good, with the beertenders being attentive, friendly, and I would assume offering service with a smile. I must assume the smile, as all staff were wearing appropriate face coverings.
I honestly can't wait for the COVID crisis to be over so I can enjoy all this establishment is sure to offer.
For those of you on edge about visiting due to the COVID crisis, they are enforcing social distancing, requiring face coverings when ordering and going inside to use the restroom, and the tables are far enough to those not in the same group can easily practice the required "social distancing."
They also offer wine and a variety of hard liquors, making them one of the few breweries to have a full liquor license, so if beer isn't your thing, there's still no excuse not to give the place a try.
If you're looking for a place to have an outstanding beer, and perhaps enjoy some good conversation with a small group of your closest friends, do yourself a favor and give One Allegiance a shot....
Read moreThis place was an absolute lifesaver of sociable mental health during the rise and height of the pandemic back in 2020/2021. With the pretty awesome outdoor setup/beer garden, we were able to socially distance and yet still be around others and feel like we or still part of the communities around us. It fulfilled the need we had a social creatures to be around others, but to do so in a safe way.
Now that we are on the other side of the pandemic with it's decline & the need to be socially distant isn't as necessary, this place has a hidden gem inside with board games, and weekly fun such as bingo and trivia nights. I would recommend asking for samples of the beers before you get a whole glass, because some of them may surprise you in flavor by how tart or heavy they are. This brewery does not take their flavorfulness of their beer lightly. 😁 They even sell jugs of their beer that you can take home, and the jug has their logo on it (as well as merch), so it is a nice souvenir to keep even if for the memories.....or you can bring the jug back in for an inexpensive refill.
The banquet hall that was next door was torn down, so it is much easier to see the brewery from Harlem Ave, since it's set back quite a bit from the main roadway. I could even see this place being used for a wedding/party venue for their...
Read moreSuperb find on a Saturday evening heading back from southwest of Chicago back home.
I felt fortunate because most breweries close by 9 or 10 pm, and all bars in Chicago close at 10, and it was already a little past 10.
I missed the turn and parked next door, and was pleasantly surprised at the really gorgeous courtyard area out front. Love the design, the overhead sweeping stretched coverings, the brickwork.
Inside was just as well designed.
The bar was the highlight, a spectacular gem that the owner and his son harvested from a nearby tree.
I saw a few people disappear out the back door, thinking they had left. Then a couple came back, then went back outside...I followed and discovered a huge open space out back with an excellent live band, tables widely spread, view of the heavens, happy chatter of people playing bags nearby accompanying the music. Such a nice scene!
Oh yeah, and the beer...
