First thing BK has got do is update their facilties. The image they are conveying is that they are a washed up antiquated FF restaurant. Historically, it is just plain factual that businesses that allow themselves to become dated in their image and other aspects that define their existence end up becoming a thing of the past. I am old fashioned but from a business standpoint it is capital suicide to allow yourself to become dated!
Second, the Wylie store is a prime example of that "dated" image. They really have nothing to make their image, facilties, or their menu current and vibrant. Today I got the Classic Whopper w/Cheese with Onion Rings. The Onion Rings sucked! They were very small with almost no onion and all batter. Bad mistake on my part. I should have stuck to fries, but it had been sooooooo long since I had been to BK that I didn't know that they had changed their Onion Rings. Now, the real reason why we went to BK over all the other FF joints was the one hook BK has over the rest is the fact that their hamburger patties are "flame broiled" and traditionally their veggies (lettuce, tomato & onion) is more like what you would get if you did it yourself at home. I must say that the burger was really good. But I do think that they could improve on it with better bread choices. The bottom line is they have got to upgrade their operation and welcome themselves into the 21st century or they are going to fizzle out. They still do a couple of things right, but they flop terribly in most of the other areas! All you have to do is take a look at so many other businesses and even the ones more closely related to their FF competition and you can see that they are trying to stay current and vibrant in order to stay connected to the world they are doing business with. TB has new stuff all the time that they offer for limited time but it keeps their menu fresh. They have updated their look at least 3x in the last 30yrs or so and continue to effort this in their business practices. They royally screwed up when they changed their beans 20 or so years back which totally screwed up their bean burritos (I am sure just to save a few pennies on a cheaper supplier) and I know they have lost a great deal of sales over those long years due to that because everyone that I know that used to love their Bean Burritos, before, tells me the same thing!
Then McD's has done the same thing. I hate that the newest look of their facilties looks so sterile now, but at least they are trying to stay current! Plus, they have the kiosk, their app, their app managed rewards (all that meshes seamlessly with their stores when you go to pay), their delivery thru Door Dash (that is also integrated into their business thru DD and their app). They also work to keep their menu fresh like TB does and have deals all the time. They just had a free breakfast thing for school administrators in celebrating the starting of the new school year.
So, BK get your act together and find "Scotty" from Star Trek and have him beam you into the 21st century so you can provide the kind of food and service that is indicative of a company that cares about their image, reputation and customer base! Oh, and please FIX THOSE SORRY...
Read moreI can't use my receipt number to complete yet another survey, because they wouldn't give me a receipt. They said the machine was down. This was at the location on 544 in Wylie TX. We have never been there and gotten good service. Ever. I've got four kids, two of them love BK, so we go a lot. And it's always a nightmare. Every single time we go through the drive through, we are told to pull around and wait out front. Every time. Doesn't matter if we have 2 burgers or 10. Then we sit there for at least 10 minutes. The staff is usually very rude, and totally unapologetic. There is a very very high turn over in employees. Today, the guy at the drive through couldn't understand our very simple order. Kept saying "que". I happen to know what that means. But if you can't understand the people ordering, you have no business being the one taking orders. At the window, never smiled, never apologized, never said have a nice or anything. He brought our food out (10 minutes later ). Our, then melted, shakes and two burgers. Basically just tossed them to me, with out a single word. Not one word. No, "sorry for the wait", no "have a good day", nothing. I realized I still didn't have a receipt, went inside to get one. Someone was locking the front door, there was a handwritten sign that said "lobby closed, short staffed". There was not a single car in the drive through, not one, and about 2 cars parked in the lot. And they are overwhelmed? ? Putting this all together, and the fact that it's been like this for years, this is clearly a management issue, or owner issue. The unbelievably high turn over rate in employees, I would guess is due to the completely disfunctional work environment. Every other place in Wylie has a love at the drive through, and lots of people inside. This place is always dead. It's easy to see why. Something needs to change before they have to close their...
Read moreToday is not the day, and I am not the one. She could either be the sorry owner, employee or manager, you can throw cou customer service skills & etiquette right out the door at this location. First, she got mad because I didn’t tell her that I had a coupon when she first took my order (that’s because I didn’t notice I had a coupon until I opened my wallet!) She said hastily “you should of told me u had coupon” & she slams window & begins shaking her head in disappointment, while talking to herself. Then, she gives me unsweet tea when I asked for sweet tea. I hand over back the tea and she became even more angry and said “we don’t have sweet tea” I’m asking why would you give me unsweet tea when I asked for sweet tea (it’s not like I have sugar readily available in my car or at home) All she had to do was be courteous & let me know they ran out of sweet tea. Heck, she could of offered sugar! There are a MILLION ways this situation could of went North. Yet instead, it goes South at this point, & she says “ok, I refuse to serve you” Wow, been going to this location for several years (never seen her before). They lost a great customer. She knows who she is. This happened on 12/1/22 shortly after...
