I have tried various Mexican food places around Grand Rapids, and the food, even at the bigger higher-end places, never comes close to this little tucked-away corner place. Service is always good. Have been there dozens of times and there has only 1 less than stellar service experience, we all have off days. There are only a few things I didn't like, to me the salsa was runny, but I prefer more of a fresh chunky type. But it has good flavor, just liquidy. I'm not a fan of their red sauce, it tasted like mole' to me, I don't like mole' so if you do, you might like this. I always get carnita st. tacos on corn tortillas, no matter where I go. The corn tortilla is enough to hold it together, the meat is seasoned just right, not too dry, but not sloppy wet either, and the fresh onion and cilantro are the exact amount to make the flavors balance out, so it all blends together for perfection. The margaritas here are just perfection. I get the frozen strawberry with salt, if you don't want the glass that is as big as your head, make sure the staff knows you want a regular glass size. The combination of flavors here is just right as well. The sweetness, tequila, and salt perfectly balanced for an amazing drink. Meals also come with beans and rice, which are good as well, both have good flavor, especially compared to other restaurants in the area which are...
Read moreOn April 23rd, I made a single order for pollo supremo, which online from Google where you can see the menu and call, states the price is $14.29. So after the order was picked up, from someone else, I was charged $19.08 When I called and asked why I was being charged more, the worker stated that the price I was giving him was the lunch price. The cost was $18 on their menu.. I mentioned that Google shows it as a Little Mexico Dinner item, not lunch. He said he would give my information to the manager to contact me. It's the next day, and I haven't heard anything yet.. So I decided to look at the restaurant actual website and doordash to see if pricing is different. The restaurants website shows $17.49, but the worker said the cost was $18, which is what I was charged. Doordash shows the price of $17.24. So ALL 4 are CHARGING/ stating DIFFERENT prices!??🤔 Google $14.29 + 6% = $15.14 Little Mexico website $17.49 + 6% = $18.53 Doordash $17.24 + 6% = $18.27 The worker $18 + 6% = $19.08 So I was charged a different price from what the website, Google and doordash states! I understand it's a few dollars more but if they're charging you more for EVERY SINGLE ITEM it adds up! My previous order for my kid's and I was $87.84 which I thought was very high!! So I was probably overcharged as well..?? 😐 Check...
Read moreWe have been here a handful of times and typically I enjoy their food but today I was disappointed after spending 40$ on lunch for me and my kids. I ordered shrimp fajitas but when I received my food the shrimp were undercooked and the texture was off. When I brought this to their attention they were easy going about it and promptly made me fish tacos. Over the course of our meal I could tell some of the ingredients were either not too fresh or quickly prepared. Our salsa was watered down so much it was basically red water with pieces of onion and cilantro floating around. The queso tasted like it was made from that cheap sliced white cheese you see in the grocery store. It also seemed like they put a ton of butter in the rice as it was super greasy. Everything grossed me out today so I’ll give them a break for a while but of course I’ll give them another try soon enough. Everyone has their bad days but I think they can use this as constructive criticism in the future. Other than that, we love the feel of this little restaurant, their decor is really cute, their booths are more spacious than your average dining and the...
