I love Mediterranean food; my husband doesn't. But he likes the shish kebab here and can get it with fries, so this place is a win-win for us! On our visit this evening I ordered the combo plate for one, which is a mountain of food. I ate my fill and brought home enough for at least two days' lunches. When I mentioned that it was my birthday, our server brought me a plate of complementary baklava. Although she was busy with several tables, she didn't act hurried and made sure we were well taken care of. Our server mentioned that all their food is carefully sourced from vendors in the Detroit area and their beef is raised especially for them. She loves working there because she knows where the food comes from and the kitchen is the cleanest restaurant kitchen she's ever seen! This was our second visit, and Hubby says he wouldn't mind coming even when it isn't my birthday. Since I won't have to wait a whole year to eat here again, I guess I won't have to order the "one of everything" plate next time. 😄 Looking forward to our next visit!

Ordered kibbeh Nayeh as it is my favorite dish. Got it home and it looked unappetizing. I took a bite and the texture was all wrong. I called and asked what they use in their recipe because it’s different than any I’ve ever had before. They let me know the owner had changed the recipe and I left the feedback that it was inedible. The worker who answered the phone was absolutely kind and understanding. I do not fault her nor the chef as it was explained to me that this was a new set of ingredients with very specific instructions they have to follow to prepare it. I’m leaving a review to let any kibbeh Nayeh lovers to just spend their money elsewhere. I’m leaving 2 stars because of good service and good garlic sauce. Without those I’d drop it down to 1 because of the above mentioned kibbeh plus the pita bread was so done it was crunchy. Maybe just an off-day. I’m just disappointed because I don’t eat out anymore and this was a treat and I’m out the money.

I stopped in to Le kabob solo and had the vegetarian sampler for one. It was easily enough for two! Once I was seated, my server brought a basket of pita bread with a garlic-based dipping paste, which was delicious. I got the sampler with rice and soup, although there were other side options such as a house salad. The sampler included a first course of a half order of hummus and tabbouleh salad. I opted for the spicy hummus, which contains red pepper flakes. I found it to be only mildly spicy, but I have a high tolerance for spice. The second course had rice, a grape leaf, one falafel, and a spinach pie. I loved all of it! The falafel was fabulous. I also had a mango smoothie. It was tasty, and I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. I took home most of the hummus, rice, and tabbouleh. I look forward to a return visit!

In my attempts to eat more plant based, I've frequented many Mediterranean style restaurants all around the country. I have to say Le Kabob surprised me with the size of their menu, the quality of the food and the generous portions. Once seated, we looked over the enormous menu and even before we decided, came a basket of pita and a generous side of garlic aioli. I eventually settled on the veggie combo, which included hummus, falafel, veggie grape leaf, spinach pie and tabouli. My coworker ordered the lamb chops. Each meal came with a choice of 1 of four soups and two sides. We had the lentil and lamb chili along with grilled vegetables, rice and French fries. Despite the number of different items I had in the combo, every morsel tasted freshly made and of fresh ingredients. I'm usually not a huge fan of grape leaves, but even that was delicious. My co-worker also found everything top-notch despite being unfamiliar with Mediterranean food. Up to this point, we were not too happy with the food in the Grand Rapids area, i.e. a certain AYCE Asian place which shall remain un-named. My only regret about Le Kabob is that I didn't order the Veggie Combo for 2, which would've allowed me to taste their Baba and mujadara, but we were already taking home leftovers with what we order. It's a shame I haven't found such a delightful establishment near my home town. Well done folks, it's nice to visit an establishment with such clear passion...

TLDR - 50min wait, cold food, wrong order and over charged $20.

This place has good food...but EVERYTHING else is terrible. I placed an order for pickup and was told it would be 20 min. I got there 20 min later but my food wasn't ready, I was told it was almost done so I paid expecting to get my food soon. After 10 min of waiting I asked how much longer to which the lady said my food was done just waiting on cook to bring it out. After 30 more min of waiting with the lady asking the cooks for my food they just kept nodding every time she talked to them. Finally after 45 min she went to get a different lady who got my food from the cooks. After spending over 50 min waiting for my food I just grabbed it and went home. When I got home all of our food was cold like it had been sitting around for an hour. They also just gave me the side dish add on of the entrees I ordered not the actual full order. I didn't get the rice or vegetables, the entrees cost $16 with the sides costing $6. I then called to see if I could get the missing food and was immediately put on hold. After another 20 min I just hung up frustrated that I got over charged $20 for my dinner. FYI - Those of you worried about covid should stay away because they wear no masks or gloves while...

Well, my family ordered an extremely large order for Mother's Day, (upwards of $90 with a 20% tip). My mom was visiting from Detroit, and as it's both of our favorite food, we were looking forward to it. My husband drove the 30 minute drive to pick it up, and they were closed. No note with an explanation, just a locked door, (with a handwritten sign specifically saying their hours for the day, and by those, they should have been open).

So here I am trying to get my money refunded, figure out what to do for dinner asap, coordinate with my husband, who drove out of our way for dinner, and dealing with my son who was losing it, as it was time for him to eat.

Thank goodness Sheshco Mediterranean Grill was open, and not only that, but their food was AWESOME!! It was cheaper, smelled better, tasted better, and overall, was pretty much exactly what we wanted. My family grew up on Middle Eastern food from our favorite places in Dearborn, on the East side. We've always chosen Le kabob for all of our family get togethers in GR, but never again. We are officially Sheshco Grill converts.

So, I guess I should say thanks for making sure I don't overspend at your restaurant chain ever again.

If you EVER want middle Eastern, Sheshco is 100%...
