Why does this place have high reviews? Are they real? The novelty of a Vegan icecream shop? Not for the appearance of the place which looks drab if not run down. It can't be the prices at $10 for a banana split or a malt. When I stopped here a few days back on a hot day there were no other customers yet it took what seemed like forever to get a "Strawberry shortcake flurry", despite 4 people in the building. The big issue I had was one of the guys hands in the cup of icecream (trying to get it out into another container, for blending apparently). It's normal and sanitary to hold a cup on the outside, just saying- It makes me wonder about the cleanliness and training of the rest of the operation. I'd already paid just shy of $8 (plus tip) for the beverage and didn't want to deal with it at this point. I pitched it later when I arrived home. There are a lot of icecream shops around the area and I stopped into the "Tippy" a couple miles west, a few minutes later. The beverage was a good value, the venue clean, and the place had probably 20 people outside enjoying their...
Read moreI will start with the positive. The ice cream was really good. It was surprisingly smooth and creamy despite being vegan. I don't normally eat vegan but we had a dairy allergy in the group so we decided to try this place out. This tastes pretty close to real ice cream. The strawberry shortcake ice cream flurry was very tasty. Now for the reason I gave it 3 stars. The service was not great. The girl that took our order acted like we ruined her day by showing up. We ordered 2 strawberry shortcake cakes and one came out and the other took 5 minutes to come out. We were the only ones there so it was not like they were super busy. The place is pretty run down. I couldn't see in the back so I'm not going to say it was dirty but it had me wondering. To top it off one of the flurries we got had...
Read moreThis is a tiny little ice cream place, with easy parking. And, holy cow is it delicious ice cream! I had the chocolate/vanilla swirl with caramel topping. My husband had a cookie dough flurry with chocolate chips (although I think the chocolate chips got put in my son's by mistake, because there were none in his cup). My son had the chocolate chip flurry, which had cookie chunks in it by mistake. They have none of the most common allergy ingredients, so that's a big deal too! Anyway, we all thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream, and will definitely go back again, even though it's 11 miles away and no easy way to get there. I'm happy to help support a woman-run small business, and you should go too. It's nice to finally see a totally vegan restaurant in town. I wish there were...
