We love Indian food and order it about once a month. We have our usual spot but wanted to try here because they offered goat which we were curious to try. We ordered 3 curries plus appetizers. Picked up the bag and asked the woman if this was everything because the bag seemed small for our order. She assured me it was so I left a $20 tip and went on my way. Got home and there was no rice for any of the curries. Called to tell them our order was missing 3 orders of rice and if we could come pick it up and instead got hung up on. Pretty annoying when you pay nearly $100 for 3 meals and apps, leave a $20 tip and your dinner is missing half of the entree that you were assured was there and then you get hung up on when you call to ask if you can come pick up the rest of your dinner.
As far as the food, the 3 curries were split between 4 adults. Over rice, it’s more than enough to share but without the rice it was not very filling after splitting it up. We agreed we did not care for the goat but I think it had more to do with the tougher texture of the meat than the sauce and seasoning. Glad we can say we tried it but wouldn’t order it again. Definitely preferred the lamb over the goat. Food was comparable to our usual Indian spot so giving it 2 stars because the food was in fact good, but first and last time trying here due to poor...
Read moreWe always order takeout, and they are always so courteous, and the food is not just delicious, but it’s consistent. It’s exactly what I expect every time, which is a big deal. The portions are also generous, so you are getting exactly what you pay for. We moved into the area over a year ago from Philadelphia, and we were afraid that we would never find a restaurant that lived up to our usual place. I am so pleased to find one that wound up being better. Edit: I wrote my original review years ago, and my feelings about this restaurant remain true today. I want to emphasize that the customer courtesy/service is stellar and I think that cannot be understated. Since the pandemic hit, customer care has unfortunately taken a drastic plunge. Stores closing earlier and earlier, basically kicking customers out the door. Most places you’d be lucky to have someone answer a phone. Luckily Nirvana remains wholly consistent in their quality as mentioned previously, but also their service. I just wanted to say that I see you all working hard, and I...
Read moreFood was okay. We went for the lunch buffet which ended at 2:30, we got there at 1:20. There was 3 other people there dining when we were there . The buffet had practically no meat left in the sauces (chicken karma had 4 pieces of chicken left, the lamb dish had no lamb). When we mentioned to the server at 1:30 if they were planning on bringing some more out she said "probably not, the kitchen is closed." The buffet was open for another hour. There was another couple that came in and had nothing but rice and sauce for their meal. Another couple with their child came in before we left and had yhe buffet...not sure what they actually had to eat. My mom mentioned bringing more out to, what seemed to be the manager, and he showed up with just a bit more of 2 of the meats. The buffet was $15. The rice pudding was all liquid and the salad was very dry, seemed old. I don't think we will be returning. Also, the one I thought was the manager walked just outside the door to smoke a cigarette, which I found to be...
