Edit Today I ordered the tilapia per usual. It was plain and tasted horrible. I asked for lemon and put some salt and pepper on it and figured I'd suffer through it. Well then I got to the middle and it was raw. I was so completely grossed out that I took my granddaughter on outside while my daughter finished. Mistakes like that should never be made. I'm a cook I know. Temp your meat if you're not good enough to know. Everything else was perfect. The staff was awesome. The atmosphere was great. The fried pickle spears were great. My daughter enjoyed her burger. My granddaughter loved her croutons and cheese off the salad, a fried pickle spear, chicken tenders and most of all her oranges. The tilapia ruined my dinner. Plain and undercooked. Never had an experience like that there. It was a sad day.
I have been to this awesome new establishment Butterbees in Xenia a few times. I've also had the pleasure of eating at the location in Mt Orab. Every single time the food, service, and atmosphere have been by far the best in Xenia. You always see management walking around staying busy. Service is always the best. Let's get to the food. It is the best in Xenia. Huge portions that are well worth the money and so delicious. I'm picky about where I eat food from but I am a big foodie. I anticipated and waited for this place to open because I knew they would be a great place to have in Xenia, finally. The Bloody Mary's are so good! They have great lunch specials. Tailgate sampler is the best appetizer to share. I personally love the tilapia, filet madallions, loaded baked potato and any salad!! I could recommend more options but those are just some of my favs. I go everytime I have the chance. Thank you for coming to Xenia. The only complaint I have and I know that others have is there is no bread like the other locations. I enjoy some kind of bread or roll with an entree. Where's the...
Read moreMy husband and I went to the Toy Show which is an biannual event in Xenia, and we were starving after so we decided to try something new to us. Butterbee's it was! It was fairly busy for a Friday afternoon, however, we were seated promptly. Our server was fantastic and really attentive. Our drinks never were empty, which is fantastic. For those wondering, at the time of our visit, they have Pepsi products.
We got the chips and salsa appetizer, which was pretty decent. The salsa was not super amazing but the cheese dip that came with it was! It was spicy and if you add in the fresh jalapenos they give you, it was a nice bite.
My husband got the Butterbeast burger, which was a ridiculous 3 patty burger with bacon and cheese. It typically comes with lettuce, tomato, onion and their special sauce on the side, none of which my husband wanted. Hes a meat and cheese guy. He chose the Waffle fries with his meal. That burger was massive, and he said it was delicious, as were the fries.
I chose the Southwest Buffalo Chicken Salad, with grilled chicken instead of fried. This was a massive salad, full of greens, pico, cheese, tortilla strips and the grilled chicken that was tossed in the house buffalo sauce. I have to admit this salad was a bit spicy, which I loved! The dressing was a spicy southwest ranch, which they gave two generous containers on the side full of.
Overall, it was a nice place, the chairs we were seated on were a tad uncomfortable but there were booths, so if you prefer those I am sure they would be more comfortable. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Even though its a bit spendy, I feel the portion sizes and taste were worth it. We...
Read moreOn par with the very large casual dining chains. This place offers a clean dining environment with the foods you expect from the standard American casual dining chain. And the quality of the food is on par with those places as well. Which means mediocre and edible. Nothing special here that will make you go "wow" in my opinion.
The NY strip steak is NOT something I'd order if looking for a decent steak. It's okay, but the quality of the cut and cooking method and seasoning level is all sub-par for the course. So skip the steaks.
The mayo based slaw and broccoli and chili were all okay. It's what I'd expect at a large national chain though. I had higher hopes. The side items here are just all average with nothing memorable.
Finally the ribs. If I was to dine here again, it's something I could order and be satisfied with. The ribs were meaty and tender with a nice flavor overall. These ribs really shined next to all the other food. And while the ribs as a stand alone item are nothing special as they simply are what I expect from casual dining as the standard, next to the other sub-par mediocre food selections they shined.
So the ribs got this a 3 star food review for it being okay, versus a 2. Very disappointed overall. Had higher expectations based on the other reviews here. And in this one, Eeyore agrees....
