Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Yakima

Thurs 07 March 2024 - 4 Stars First time at this location. The parking is hard during normal meal times. The drive-thru seemed to move pretty quickly. The app is easy to order with, and the rewards program on the app is simple to understand. The food comes in generous portions but could use more salsa with the "chips & salsa." I liked the chips a lot. My burrito was very filling and a good price. The staff were all working hard and fast during the lunch rush. I also saw constant cleaning. I understand they were busy, but there was little to no interactions with the customers during the order and payment process. When it slowed down, the interactions with customers did not change. The music was a bit loud given that the walls bounced all the conversations and "chair stretching" on the concrete floor. The place echoes so much that the music volume just added to the echo. Walked-in and door was stuck open. I was third in line. 5 people visible from my line. 1 worker taking care of customers, 3 working in the kitchen preparing food, and 1 guy just standing at the register. Unsure why this 1 person was not helping the other by preparing food for the next customer. Missing a bin for just tomatoes, instead needed to ask for the pico de gallo as a result, as it was the only thing with tomatoes in it. It was prepared with WAY TOO MANY onions! Is there a shortage of tomatoes??? Ordered a side of chips and queso. The cheese was fine, but the bag of chips did not taste fresh, and there were so few in the bag. $5, too much! Went to get a fork on the way out, but the forks and spoon bins were all empty. Only knives, so I asked for a fork. Notice the garbage bin over-flowing by the front door. They look like they were just mobbed with 100 customers, but there were only 2 sitting down....

I love chipotle. I always have but the service here is horrible. I went in for the 2nd time because usually I go through the chipotlane and I was excited to get my food. However, When I asked for a bowl the employee proceeded to put hardly any rice, beans, or chicken on it. I wish I had taken a picture of that bowl! (I decided to not even purchase that) When I asked for more chicken he added hardly anything and proceeds to say I can add a little more. I couldn’t believe the small amount of food he was trying to give me. All I was asking for is my moneys worth and not cardboard basically! Some of the employees here need to be retrained on serving sizes and it’s not like we want heaping bowls of food. Just give us our money’s worth and something sustainable!
