Great experience. A good friend recommended. It’s her favorite.
First attempt, couldn’t get there due to Bass River bridge closure.
Then we read a negative review on Facebook and didn’t intend to visit.
Our friend offered to treat us for our birthdays today.
Once there today, we met 3 separate parties we knew who said the Rooster is either a weekly or bi-weekly regular occurrence for them.
Found a few items that looked interesting on the menu. Most options looked like typical (boring) breakfast fare, but our friend told us they do a lot in-house (e.g. the creamed spinach). She’s tried many items and knows the chef/owner, so likely to be better than you’d expect.
We chose the Wild Mushroom Benedict and the Crepes with fruit and nutella. Beautiful in presentation and excellent in flavor.
Grumpy’s was previously my fave Benedict, or at least hollandaise. This is now.
Perfectly seasoned (a rarity on frustratingly salt-averse Cape Cod).
I was especially impressed by the griddling and seasoning on the hidden-under-hollandaise english muffin.
The ladies went to the bathroom before we sat. The negative facebook review complained about the bathroom, saying it was dirty. Asking after their return, the ladies didn’t share that impression.
I’m in general thoroughly underwhelmed by Cape Cod (most American, actually) breakfast joints. Things done the same way for decades, yet far inferior to the methods of our (great) grandparents - they owned a restaurant back in the day, which I never experienced, but my grandmother’s cooking set the standard.
Didn’t mention the server. Very pleasant and attentive. The gentleman kindly bright a candle with the crepes and was careful to ensure the flame didn’t go out.
The place inside is creatively decorated and clean. Was told it’s around 3 years old.
ALL that said, we’ll...
Read moreIf you're hungry for breakfast, this is the place to go! (And lunch isn't too shabby either.) Crazy Rooster 🐓 is only open for breakfast and lunch, but if you eat here, you probably won't need any dinner. The menu is enormous. You will have trouble settling on just 1 item. The Hungry Boy is pictured - 3 eggs 🍳, 3 pancakes 🥞, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of bacon 🥓, home fries, and 2 pieces of toast, all for $10.50! On the egg and cheese 🧀 sandwich, (5 to choose from) you get 2 eggs 🥚🥚. The waffle 🧇 just about fills the plate. The Eggs Benedict, of which there's almost a ½ page to choose from, also comes with home fries and fills the plate 🍽. There are lots of sandwiches, served "all day." If you choose 1 of the 9 burgers 🍔 (which come with pickles and fries 🍟), you’ll probably have to remove some of the toppings just to get it in your mouth. There are omelets, soups, salads, appetizers, entrées, low cholesterol, Special Plates, and a children's menu. They have a full bar and even a menu with "breakfast specials." There is something for everyone. Service comes with a smile. They can accommodate families and groups. This is a favorite with locals. Open year 'round at 6:30 am and close at 2 pm. There's plenty of parking and an outdoor seating porch. You should not miss this place, and I'll bet...
Read moreThought we would give this place another chance this morning for breakfast. Walked in about 8:30am, we were sat at a high top table in the bar area. Someone came by about five minutes later and asked what we would like for drinks, we ordered a couple coffees that were dropped off quickly, by who we assumed was our server. We Sat ready to order for quite a while, finally the woman who was behind the bar came over, probably because we were looking around for our for our server, so I said, we’ve been waiting for our server and she very sarcastically tells us”well, you’re gonna have to be patient we’re short handed, so at that we said then we’ll pay for our coffee and pass on breakfast! This woman was so rude and condescending she should not be in customer service! How about informing customers when they are seated that the wait will be longer that usual! That we would understand! Will not wast our time on this...
