I don't understand what about Yelm produces multiple great quality sit-down restaurants but.. The food, the service, and the overall quality quantity and price of the food here was all exceptional and set bars for me in terms of what an actual dining experience for Teriyaki should be like. I'm used to mall teriyaki where you usually avoid it or risk getting sick- or even teriyaki in Tacoma or Lakewood which can be gooey though served with a smile. Here in Yelm though at Young's Teriyaki, the food is crisp and well seasoned in generous portions sizes that will ensure you're taking a doggy bag on the way out. For this type of experience in Tacoma or Southcenter you'd expect the meal to easily be $30 or higher, but here you can have a well-priced meal with appetizer drink and meal for $15-20; you can even get it for a better price without the appetizer. The staff was friendly, like walking in to your friend's home when you were younger, greeting you with a smile and waving you over to sit down to eat. Definitely if you have time, take a seat here and grab a bite to eat- I assure you you'll have as delightful an experience as I had with my...
Read moreSolid food. Will order again as it is the best in town. However, it has its short comings. The udon noodles aren’t udon noodles, they are lo mein noodles, which are Chinese, not Japanese. So that’s misleading. This is supposed to be a Japanese restaurant. The fried rice is delicious, very mild in flavor and offers a nice relief from the hearty entrees. The Yaki Udon and Chicken Udon are good and the chicken was cooked perfectly and flavored nicely. The noodles needed more flavor. There is no heat, acid, or anything that stands out. The General Tso was amazing! Very spicy, will definitely be ordering again. The vegetable tempura comes with shrimp, which is misnomer. The spring rolls were mediocre. The peanut sauce was amazing!
Sauces are not complimentary if you want more and getting take out. The teriyaki sauce and General Tso’s sauces are thick and gloopy, but still hold quite a bit of delicious flavor.
The employee who handed us our food was wearing safety glasses upside down in front of her mouth as a make shift mask, which is odd and...
Read moreWas trying to decide on where to eat and decided to try Young's teriyaki and I'm very happy that I chose Young's teriyaki. Food was delicious service was very fast the staff was friendly. Potstickers were delicious rice was cooked perfectly and I got Mongolian beef it was very good. I was shocked how fast they got my order to me my whole interaction time was maybe 12 minutes from walking in ordering and getting my food handed to me.
I would recommend Young's teriyaki to anyone that likes Chinese food. And it's right it's part of yelm next to the grocery outlet. I hope you try it out sometime this is my first time being here and I will be a return customer I can assure you that and I'm pretty sure if you come here too you will try it and you will like it and you will return.
Edit: I now come here at least 3 times a month now. Good food, fast service and nice staff. Added a photo of dinner combination teriyaki chicken with general Taos( comes with two scoops of rice and a...
