I did not have a pleasant experience at this Blaze. Far from, actually.
Typically, I go to the ones in either Orange on Tustin or the Brea location that is near Birch and have always been a fan of their service, promptness and quality of the pizza.
Decided to give the Yorba Linda location a try, since it's much closer to where I live (I was originally thrilled when i heard there's now a YL Blaze).
The excitement fizzled out quickly. The person who started my order had the kind of attitude as if it was a bother that he had a customer. Also, by "started my order," I mean that he prepared a pizza pan for my order and set it aside - no dough or anything, yet. The place was NOT busy, which is important to note. Because I then stood waiting around for ten minutes or so before someone even put the dough on my pan. There were a whole lot of employees doing a whole lot of nothing. Again, this wasn't a busy time. I was one of only a handful of customers even in the restaurant, most of them already sitting and eating before I arrived.
Another two employees then started my pizzas - I was ordering two of them - and neither of them were friendly, at all, and mirrored the attitude of the first that maybe they didn't like their job or their customers. I'm not expecting gold star customer service everywhere I go - in fact, my standards are pretty minimum being that RARELY do you get someone that is indeed friendly or pleasant. I'm fine with people being dry, as long as the overall service is decent. The thing is, this was the slowest AND un-friendliest service I've ever gotten at any Blaze pizza. As I said in the beginning of this review, it's usually good to very good.
I would rather drive further to Tustin or Brea to be able to get better and faster service. And considering gas prices and California traffic - that says a lot.
I would suggest to the franchise owners of the Yorba Linda Blaze to either retrain or restaff. Even though Blaze has a good reputation, nothing will sour that more quickly than a batch of inefficient and...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I both have food allergies (mine dairy and his gluten) and we have a hard time finding places to eat together. Blaze is one of the few places we can have pizza together thanks to their gluten free protocols. We’ve gotten pizza here regularly for some time now. However as of last night we can no longer say this restaurant is on our safe list.
We witnessed a worker blatantly cross contaminate toppings. We are aware of the cross contamination that can happen when shared foods are around, but the employee did not follow protocol and was very rude.
My boyfriend ordered a gluten free Green Stripe pizza and before putting anything on the dough, the employee put mozzarella cheese on it. Of course we asked about the pesto that is suppose to be the first thing on this pizza, and the employee stated that the “pesto goes on last”. They went back and forth and eventually the employee said he would fix the mistake. The employee then took the cheese directly off of the dough and put it BACK in the mozzarella bin to be used for other orders! This is a serious cross contamination issue.
On top of that the employee had such an attitude through out the whole order, he even made a snarky joke and laughed at how much pesto my boyfriend wanted when it is a pesto based pizza! This request is as simple as adding extra red sauce (which the pesto acts as in this Blaze Signature pizza)
Not to mention my own pizza was significantly overcooked/burnt. We want to enjoy Blaze Pizza but due to this employee we can’t/don’t feel comfortable eating here and definitely cannot recommend this place to others with allergies/intolerances. If that employee is dumping condiments off of a pizza back into the toppings container who knows what else they are doing? A red flag for anyone who doesn’t even...
Read moreVery poor service and planning by the management. Drove here with my family for dinner after my kid's practice at 6:45pm. There was no one in line and the dining room was 50% full. There was a 30 min wait due to them taking too many online orders. Having to turn away present customers for door dash or online orders is a bad call and they should throttle their online orders if they are unable to meet demand.
Sooooooo...I decided to give this location a second chance tonight on the way home from another son's football practice. The store was scheduled to close at 10pm on a Tuesday night. We arrived at 9:25pm and entered the store to order a pizza. An employee informed us they were closed as we stood at the line to order. They were not out of food, it was 35 min before their scheduled close but they said they had a busy night and decided to close early! 7 employees were standing around and another was eating in the dining room. The employee said, "didn't you see the sign saying we were closed when you walked through that unlocked...
