Yorktown Hotel 10-17-24||Arrived at the Yorktowne Hotel in York PA. on Thursday afternoon about 2:30 pm. The outside was spotless and very easy to unload your luggage at the rear of the building. We proceeded into the newly renovated Hotel to check-in at the front desk. All I could think of was WOW, this hotel is immaculate, very well laid out and clean as a pin. The entire lobby just works, it all flows together nicely. The check-in was seamless and very quick. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful telling us where rooms were, where to park and answering any questions we had. Parking is across the street from the Hotel in a parking garage which was easy and not any problems at all. You must use your room key to run the elevators to get to your floor for added security. The elevators were new, well lit, very clean and easy to use. Once we got to our floor the hallways were well lit, new carpets, and nice signage to direct you to your room. A key card opens your room door and once inside the room your key card will keep power on to all lights. Everything inside the room was new and laid out nicely. It had a large screen TV, Work Desk/Dresser with electrical and cat 5 for laptop or other electronics. The bathroom was new and very clean. The shower had plenty of water pressure and the hot water was just that hot and it did not fluctuate; it stayed hot. One thing I loved was that they had Body Wash, Shampoo and Conditioner all mounted on the wall inside the shower, a nice touch. The sink area was big, new and Body Lotion mounted to the sink wall. The bed was more than comfortable, and the pillows, blankets and sheets were all new. The room windows were new, not drafty and had black out blinds along with a room curtain that worked. The HVAC unit worked well with a wall thermostat to control it, the unit was clean, and filters were spotless. There was only one bedside nightstand, I do wish there would have been two one on each side of the bed to hold cell phones and CPAPs and such. The room had a large comfortable chair for lounging in front of the TV. A safe, small refrigerator, large mirror and closet with steamer rounded out our room amenities. I found the rooms very cozy, and all worked well together. The room was well lit, clean, and very functional. You must remember this was a basic room as they have some suite rooms with more amenities to them. Every aspect of this Historic Hotel is modern but with the historic value not overlooked and you can see this throughout the entire Hotel, it's new but it's old, it's old but it's new. The Lobby Bar which is called The Davidson Bar and Restaurant is very large and easy to find a seat. They serve drinks and food in this area. You can sit at the Bar, or they have tables nearby to suit your needs. They were very busy on Friday night and I for one can't wait to try the food. The next day I went to the Lobby Bar around 11am, and they were still busy. As packed as they were they waited on me fast. I ordered a Beer which was cold and a Royal Square Burger. My burger came out in reasonable time. It was so big I could barely get it all in my mouth. I believe this burger had just about everything on it. It was so good, and it came with some Fries on the side and a Pickle Spear. I did have a chance to look at the main Ballroom. All was new in this room and well-lit with large chandeliers and sconces adorning the walls and ceilings. Once again, the main Ballroom was simply beautiful, and this would be one of the premier places for Weddings or any other events you may want. There are a couple other small meeting rooms, they all were new, well-lit, and very functional. If you're looking for a place to stay downtown York or have an event, meeting, or large get together don't overlook this place, trust me you will not be sorry. I did travel up to the Graham Rooftop Bar which was the old Penthouse Suite. Even this bar was top notch with a large patio area outside with a beautiful view of sunsets or the city. This area had outside Flame Warmers, Lounge Chairs, Tables, and an Entertainer that played music. What a view and great place for drinks or meeting up with people. I have stayed at many other hotels in this area and this Hotel by far is the best. I don't give out a lot of 5 stars but when I do they have to be earned. I gladly give this place 5 stars out of 5 stars. All for the beautiful rooms, bars, friendly staff, great food and such a wonderful experience while staying there everything was top notch. |||⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐||Follow me on FB for more...
