Dont miss this yougstown gem! I did a solo Sunday 9am visit to this stand-alone road-front local joint next to a large flea market just getting underway. The flea market parking traffic chaos was mirrored inside the restaurant buzzing with lots of locals filling up before foraging through the hundreds of vendors next door. Five or so steps up to a porch and an entry put me behind a party of six who waited all of 30 seconds to be greeted with a smile and seated. I waited all of 10 seconds. My server, Kelly was the picture of perfection in her approach to her customers and her work. She cheerfully took my order of home fries 2 over medium, 4 sausage links and a half order of biscuits and gravy. The coffee was superb and regular offers to refill were neither sparse nor intrusive. Food arrived quickly and hot and was frankly astonishing for its quality and skilled preparation. Home fries had a gold tone suggestive of Yukon gold potatoes or turmeric and were salted just enough to bring out a unique taste that faintly reminded me of caraway... perhaps they were grilled with the sausage?. Sausage links were 3.5 " and 5/8" in diameter and nicely browned and cooked through. My medium eggs were perfect with just a bit of run to them. I took home bread pudding for my wife which got rave reviews. Watching cheerful staff interact with each other and a variety of folks from working class to kids to retired was a delight... marvelous humor and mood to the place. This will be a Youngstown go to spot for me now whenever I am...

I was served cold/undercooked potatoes with the wrong toast. In addition, I lost my appetite after I watched our waitress go for a smoke, come back in and not wash her hands. Our waitress then began to touch things, and everything she gave us smelled like cigarette smoke. Furthermore, the table behind us spilt water all over the floor and no one cleaned it up, The water then migrated under our table and we had to stomp around in a puddle of water while we ate. I understand that the restaurant was busy today but that is no excuse to compromise cleanliness and proper cooking...
