Our first visit to the restaurant and not sure we would come back. Start with the good - the food was excellent. The menu was quite varied, ranging from light dishes to full entrees. The one appetizer was enough for a full meal. And the salad we got with salmon added on was exceptional; the salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the smoked salt on the salad added wonderful flavor. Now for the bad. When we got there, we were seated at a table next to the window - in the direct sun. It was about 85 degrees outside and the air conditioning (which we were told was on) was doing nothing to cool down the restaurant. As the window had no shade or blinds, we asked to be seated somewhere else (in the shade) and were told that nothing was available. Then we had to sit in the direct sunlight wearing sunglasses and hats for nearly 15 minutes before our server came over to take even a drink order. We asked her whether a different table was available and none were but she moved us to the bar which, mercifully, was out of the sun. Unfortunately, I encountered a situation that left me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. Throughout my time at the restaurant, I noticed a distinct lack of attention from our waitress. Despite being seated in close proximity to other patrons, it seemed that our table was overlooked, and I often found myself having to flag down the server for basic needs, such as placing our order or requesting drink refills. What struck me as particularly disheartening was the apparent disparity in service levels. I observed that the waitress was more attentive to other tables, predominantly those occupied by white customers. This made my dining experience feel less valued, and I could not help but feel that the service we received was influenced by our appearance.

Group of 6, seated immediately and then the wait...wait to place a drink order which took 15 minutes, and then more wait... finally placed our food orders 40 minutes after placing our drink order. It was an hour and 20 minutes from when we arrived to when the food hit the table. The waitress seemed more concerned about filing sugar packets on empty tables then serving the customers. Sure, you probably are asking how busy were they? Including our 6, maybe 20 people total. Food was decent, seemed clean and for downtown Youngstown, trying to survive is probably a struggle.
