B-Cubed Bakery is just delightful. The owner is so welcoming and takes the time to explain everything, which immediately makes you feel at home. My husband and I have been searching for a place where we could get fresh-made sourdough bread first thing in the morning—the kind that, when sliced and bagged, still lets out a wisp of steam. We first had that experience at a bakery in Tampa, Florida years ago, and although we’ve found good bread at Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme, and Trader Joe’s, nothing compares to a true local bakery. And let me explain the bread. The sourdough has a taste that’s almost impossible to describe—it just melts in your mouth. The crust isn’t too hard or crispy; instead, it has this perfectly chewy texture that makes every bite feel complete. Honestly, it brought back childhood memories for me, the kind you can’t put a price on. I don’t even eat bread like that, but I ate way more slices than I needed to because it was just that good. This bakery gives us that experience—and even more. Their sourdough is the best we’ve had anywhere: East Coast, Midwest, anywhere. We’ve tried so many loaves, searching for that Tampa memory, and this surpasses it. As someone with Caribbean roots, it even pulled me back to childhood memories of walking to the bakery, waiting in line, and savoring fresh bread. At B-Cubed, there was no line, the space was clean and uncluttered, and the selection was impressive—including vegan options that were genuinely tasty. What makes B-Cubed stand out even more is their commitment to community. They don’t just bake bread—they partner with other local businesses. They serve and sell local coffee, which means every cup and every loaf helps build Ypsilanti’s economy. That extra dollar you spend here doesn’t vanish into a chain; it circulates right back into the community, strengthening the connections that make this place special. They also have a cozy indoor nook and a sweet outdoor seating area, making it easy to slow down, sip coffee, and enjoy fresh bread or pastries with a friend. Yes, the location might feel unusual at first—it sits next to a big empty lot. But here’s the thing: that bakery lights up the area. And I hope, truly, that one day someone in our community invests in that space and builds affordable, mixed-income housing right next to it. Because that’s the kind of growth Ypsilanti deserves—growth that’s rooted in people and possibility. If you’re looking for more than just bread—if you want good pastries, good coffee, warm conversation, and a sense of place—go to B-Cubed Bakery. It’s a gem that reminds you to slow down, enjoy what’s in front of you, and celebrate what our community is becoming.

Best little bakery Ypsilanti, Mi. This place is a hidden gem . They make their own dough . It’s quite amazing . They have ham cheese sandwich that is to die for . If you are driving South of Detroit in the morning … please drop here and grab something. You will be glad you did . Not really a sit and eat … more of a grab and go bakery. They do have a few tables to sit at . Coffee , scones, etc … check it

Loved everything about the place. The energy inside was great well lit and the aromas of fresh breads and coffee I really wish I could’ve stayed but I liked my coffee so much I doubled back to try another flavor and loved that one too. The chocolate danish was so flakey and buttery but once you got into it, it was soft and had sweet glaze on it that compliments the chocolate very well 10/10 experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ B Cubed Bakery - A Hidden Gem in Ypsilanti That Deserves the Spotlight

Let me just start by saying this place is a dream! B Cubed Bakery is one of those hidden gems that feels like it belongs in a Hallmark movie—a cute little shop where the food is amazing, the staff is friendly, and the whole experience leaves you smiling. Let’s break it down:

Location & Vibes: Tucked away in what I believe used to be a bank (and then a dance studio), B Cubed Bakery is not easy to spot unless you know it’s there—but that just adds to its charm. The parking lot could use a little love (a repave would do wonders), but it’s spacious, and honestly, that won’t stop anyone once you realize what’s waiting inside. The shop itself is adorable, cozy, and has that warm, welcoming small-town vibe that you just don’t get with big chains.

Staff & Service: The staff here is so friendly, it feels like catching up with old friends. They genuinely care about their food and their customers, and it shows. I’m pretty sure they asked if I wanted my loaf of bread sliced, but I was so distracted by the amazing pastry flavors that I completely missed it (rookie mistake on my part!). Even so, they were so patient and kind, making the experience delightful.

Food & Vegetarian Options: Let’s talk food. As a vegetarian, I love how many delicious options they have! The pastries are an absolute dream—flaky, flavorful, and downright addictive. Their scones are perfection, and the bread? Chef’s kiss. Just don’t forget to ask them to slice your loaf, unless you’re ready to wrestle with it at home like I did! They also have some artificial pastries that are wonderfully creative and just as tasty. Everything is fresh, and you can tell they focus on quality over quantity.

Why It’s Special (and the Panera Vibes): If I had to compare, this place reminds me of Panera before Panera was bought by Krispy Kreme—back when everything felt fresh, clean, and special. You know, when Panera was the go-to spot for amazing soups, bread, and pastries with real ingredients and that cozy vibe we all loved. B Cubed Bakery feels like it has that same potential. Sure, their menu may not be as expansive as the old-school Panera, but what they offer is done exceptionally well, and you can tell they prioritize quality over shortcuts.

Final Thoughts: B Cubed Bakery is a hidden treasure that deserves way more recognition. I hope more people discover this adorable spot and that it gets as busy as it deserves to be—because it’s THAT good. Whether you’re in the mood for pastries, scones, or just want a cute spot to brighten your day, this place is a must-visit. It’s got that nostalgic charm of a place that feels personal and authentic, just like the original Panera used to. Just don’t make my mistake—pay attention when they ask if you want your...

Ben makes the best bread in the county, and the competition isn't even close. Delicious sourdough, addictive cookies, friendly service. His bakery building is in a foemr bank, and it still has the vault door, which is presumably where he stores the sourdough starter at night.

Get the bread, get the scones, eat the baguettes until you physically can't anymore. Eat the specialty cookies. Wash it down with Hyperion coffee.

If you're lucky, sometimes he also has cinnamon rolls, which, let me tell you, are dangerously good. Stupid good.

Ben knows his stuff; he has spent time apprenticing in some of the best bakeries in the state, and he's poised to outshine them all. I cannot recommend his breads enough. They are fantastic. Chewy, doughy, with a great crust. Perfect for eating with butter, or with cheese, or with cheese and butter, or really anything else. The bread even makes amazing croutons in the rare event you don't get to the entire loaf in time.

Eat Ben's...
