La Ktrina — Restaurant in Ypsilanti Charter Township

I have been here 3 times now and can say each and every time I have received not only amazing food, but amazing customer service. Being semi new to the area I have been searching for a great taco spot and this is definitely a new favorite of mine!!

First time here I dined in with a friend, between the two of us we ordered birria, chicken tacos, elote, churros, and a aguas fresca - AMAZING. my only complaint here was the birria tasting oily and could have used a little more flavor.

Second time I ordered carryout and got chicken and beef tacos, chicken quesadilla, chips & guac, chicken flautas and of course a aguas fresca! Again - AMAZING!! My only complaint here was the tacos came wrapped in foil so they ended up getting soft from the steam so they fell apart. Still didn't stop me from eating them though!

Third time here I just ordered carryout again on my way home from work. I got chicken tacos, chips & guac/salsa, chicken quesadilla and you guessed it, an agua fresca! Can honestly say as cliche as it is, 3rd time really is a charm! The tacos were even more flavorful today than the last 2 times. My feedback on the last order was applied and tacos came in a container. Just amazing as always.

The flavor, the freshness, the overall care that is put into everything has been noticeable since my first visit to this establishment. The customer service alone is enough to keep me coming back and I'm always so happy I did once I take that first bite lol. You GOTTA try this new place out, honestly a hidden gem.

La Ktrina is one of the best Latino food restaurants, which is saying a lot considering all the great Latino food spots in Ypsilanti. I ordered tostadas, and an elote cup. The tostadas were honestly the best I've ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy, and cut into bite sized pieces. The elote was stuffed full of butter, cheese, and chili, which is exactly how it should be! They even layered the filling, so you didn't get any unseasoned corn in the cup. The kitchen looked incredibly clean, which takes alot for me to say since I've previously worked in a fine dining kitchen. The restaurant itself was very clean and well decorated, which is a rarity in this town. Even more, they deliver themselves, no door dash or grub hub needed! I'll definitely be getting delivery soon.

All in all, a perfect Central American food take out experience. I will be placing many orders...

I’ve been living in the area for over 2 years and have struggled to find good food that I actually want to eat.

I was hesitant to eat here because of the place that was here prior, and because I am always a bit hesitant with food attached to gas stations. With that said, this place is actually INCREDIBLE!

It was easy to place an order, very easy to get there and park, easy to pick up my order, and it was packaged perfectly. My boyfriend and I both got birria, and I am amazed at how incredible this tastes!! So full of flavor, not soggy, included limes and even other sauces! I was full after one taco unfortunately, but that speaks volumes about the density of their meals!!

Super impressed with the food, the service and the location. Absolutely deserves 5 stars. I will recommend to everyone and am so excited to keep coming back!! Hope it stays consistent, as reliability is a huge issue in this...
