Northern Grind Coffee — Restaurant in Ypsilanti

I have went here several times. Today may end up being my last. This girl that is working tonight (Saturday June 22, 2024 at 6pm ish.) is the most rude, disrespectful, and genuinely nasty person ever. I got home from a long day at work, I live nearby, I wanted to get a cold drink for me and my wife. She looked at me as I was walking up and said to me: “Are you really going to come here and make me go inside?” So I said no have a great day. Another experience I have had with her she told my wife to take her service animal outside as dogs are not allowed. She should check that law. Even after being told it was a service animal she said I don’t care remove the dog. I’m refusing to make anything. The very first experience I had with her at an hour before the posted closing time she already had everything turned off and said all she had was drip coffee as she has cleaned everything else.

People like this are why businesses fail. I won’t be coming back if I see she has even...

This place is trying to do too much with too little staff. When I stopped by, there was only one barista working. It really doesn’t make sense to have only one worker to handle the register, espresso machine, warming station, and blenders for smoothies. Myself and other customers there waited an incredibly long time for our orders to come out… during that time, I looked around and noticed that the specialty drinks board hasn’t been updated since December or November. I only ordered a drip coffee and I was standing around waiting for ages! There’s so many cool cafés in the Ypsi/A2 area, and I don’t think this one meets...

Absolutely love this place! They have a good variety of food and drinks and the service is overall pretty quick and kind! So far I’ve tried the breakfast sandwich, some of their pastries and iced chai tea latte, all of which were delicious! There’s on-site parking in front as well as lots of other close spots nearby.

Decent amount of seating with lots of outlets which is great for when I come study with my laptop. They also have a printer which is really nice. I haven’t checked the price yet but it’s probably not too bad.

All in all, I highly recommend. It’s my new favorite spot and I’ll be back as much as my wallet...
