I was very disappointed. Firstly, I ordered Curry Prawns solely because there was zero mention of the buffet. Secondly, I quickly realized they wanted to rush me in & out of their completely empty restaurant--before this buffet (while I was eating) was brought out. Thirdly, I was able to grasp why their mistreatment: they thought I was homeless & therefore unworthy of frequenting their establishment. I wore a welder's cap, and welding shirt. They thought, based on their questions--I was dressed to endure the coming cold night, as a hobo. I speak w/ an Appalachian twang--and really sensed their disapproval of my very existence. Lastly, the food consisted of a mountain of green peppers & less than ten tiny shrimp--not prawns. They were what I know as "baby gulf shrimp". They snapped up the $5 tip I added, and verbally abused me the entirety of my patronization. On the bright side, it's been an hour--and I'm not yet sick! BTW--the older man is a horribly rude, racist man. It's near impossible to get good food in California; what most (transplanted foreigners, Yankees, & native Californians) consider fine dining--I consider almost inedible. Very low expectations in most cases, due to limited exposure to disparate global, even nationwide,...
Read moreFirst time dining at the Ming Dynasty. The restaurant is filled with bright red lanterns and ancient scenery. The service is great. I just needed more time to look over their menu. Their roasted duck plate caught my eye and I decided to give it a whirl. It took twenty minutes to prepare the meal. The dining room slowly filled with a strong aroma and people began to tremble. I was getting nervous. I didn't know what to expect. The final dish arrived at my table and it was perfectly crafted. Bright red duck pieces were surrounded by green broccoli. A Native American would have been proud. A small side of rice was also included in the meal. The duck itself does have a unique taste. It must be high in myoglobin. The thick, brownish meat was not easy to devour. Wildly different. No, it does not taste like chicken. The thick skin was worthy of saving in a doggie bag though. I wish they gave out...
Read moreAfter watching the recent video, we decided to give Ming's Chinese Restaurant another try and we are so very glad we did! The food was incredible!!!! We have eaten at some of the best Chinese Restaurants in California, but Ming's stands up with the rest. Very friendly service. Great atmosphere. The portions are really big and everything was cooked fresh. We especially thoroughly enjoyed the Spring Rolls and Mafa Chicken with their delicious Sweet n Sour Sauce, the Pork Fried Rice was incredible and something we've never tried before, and the Sweet & Sour Pork was delicious puffs of heaven. Their Sweet n' Sour soup was also really good as well as Orange Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. This is now our favorite restaurant in town and we definitely will be going back. We highly...
