Friday date night with my sweetheart; headed to a late movie, so we decide to hit Chili's for some appetizers and a drink beforehand. Sat at a booth in the bar, they were steady but not terribly busy. We watch as what we presume is the waitress from our section stand at the bar chit-chatting with a guy who appears to be a personal friend/maybe boyfriend of the waitress. We hadn't been greeted yet and sat for what seemed like about 10 minutes while she flirted at the bar. Although we began to be annoyed, we didn't say anything and she soon came over to take our drink order. Another 5-10 minutes passed as we watched our drinks prepared by the bartender sit at the bar about 5 feet from our booth, with the waitrees nowhere to be seen. Finally tired of waiting and afraid the drinks were going to be watered down from sitting, I got up to retrieve the drinks myself, telling the bartender I was taking them since the waitress hadn't returned. A few minutes later, waitress comes up to table "flustered" and states a "patron" at the bar had told her we got our own drinks and that she was sorry but she was really busy because someone had called in sick for their shift, although her "apology" was given with a bit of attitude and the "patron" at the bar who "told on us" was the same guy she had been flirting with earlier. (not to mention the last 2 times we've been there, our server has told us they were short handed due to someone not showing up for their shift - I've grown tired of hearing that!) We were annoyed by her excuse making, especially after watching her waste time chatting it up while we waited, so I told her it really wasn't our problem and that she seemed to have time to chit-chat with the guy at the bar. This inflamed her and she said "well I'll just get you another server" and I replied "yes I think that would be a good idea" - and then asked to speak to her manager. She spun around and with a load of ugly attitude stated "sure, and perhaps you'd like to go into the kitchen and retrieve your own appetizers as well?!" - Well that was the final straw for us. The manager came to the table and squatted down at the front of the booth while we shared what had transpired; but he never uttered a word, not so much as an apology or anything. At about that time the waitress came to the table with the appetizers, at which time we told them to forget it and that we had no intention of staying nor returning. The guy at the bar was "mad dogging" my boyfriend on the way out (which in turn got a "FU buddy" from him, umm yeah it's time to go!"). I have NEVER been treated so rudely. That waitress is HORRIBLE and should be fired. I am a former server myself - and am always appreciative and polite to servers - but this one was out of control and the whole episode was completely unacceptable. We will...
Read moreCan't give Chili's in Yuba City any stars, but had to give one through this app. It not only has the worst service, and the worst food in Yuba City! I was there after 2pm and not busy at all, and was seated in the bar area. Our server was Carlos who was more attentive to tables with more people. (bigger tips) We ordered our beverage then our meal and waited. Our meals came, but no fork or spoon given. We waited as i stared at my chicken caesar salad. I touched the chicken and it was cold and the romaine lettuce extremely wilted. So wilted that I felt I was given the romaine lettuce from the prior day left out. So it being wilted was NOT due to hot chicken, because it was COLD. After waiting 5 plus minutes for our forks we decided to flag the hostess. We informed her we never received any forks to eat. She snickered and smirked then gave an obnoxious look, as if being disturbed and retrieved us our forks. Then Carlos came finally and asked if everything was ok? We informed him of his lack of service and then asked for a manager. All the while the hostess kept staring with annoying glared looks. I showed the young manager my day old looking salad and informed her of our bad waiter. She did volunteer to replace it. I declined because too many horror stories from people returning food. She did though remove the salad from my bill. Another bad thing I noticed was a lot of the female employees only clipped some of their hair up, while leaving the rest hanging down past their shoulders. I even saw a kitchen employee with her hair partially clipped with most of her hair hanging in the kitchen. Carlos showed up again and obtained the payment for our bill of $20.10. We still gave him $3, for bad service. Then I noticed him grab the bill and with a sly movement conceal it to remove it from our table I guess so I couldnt use it to show the main manager my order, date and time. So again Yuba City Chili's deserves NO STARS. I wont be returning to this establishment...
Read moreNormally, I would have gave 5+ stars if I could. The service and food are always good at Chili's in Yuba City. We go there often, sometimes every week.
About three wks ago, we had dinner there again. I had the classic rib eye steak cooked medium, loaded mashed potatoes, and asperagus with cherry tomatoes and slivered garlic. All of it was really good. I especially enjoyed the asparagus, which were sauteed lightly in butter, garlic and tomatoes. Not under or over cooked. I knew I would be back for that meal again soon.
So we went back again last week, and again yesterday evening. I had the same steak meal. Only the potatoes, and side salads were good. I asked to have my steaks cooked medium like the first time, but they were med/rare. Blood was all over my plate, in the potatoes and under the asperagus. The asperagus, garlic and tomatoes were not cooked, and were cold. I showed the waitress how under cooked the steak and asparagus were. She took my plate back to get the steak and asperagus recooked. When it came back, the asperagus were still raw, and the steak was over cooked. She gave me a new steak since the other was over cooked. After eating my salad, I took my steak meal to go,knowing I could cook it, and asperagus correctly when heating them up. I had to do the same again yesterday. I guess my first steak meal is the only one to be cooked correct. I don't understand how everything was cooked perfect the first time. But second and third meals were so under cooked. How would the chefs, not be able to cook the steaks and asperagus correctly. I won't go back again, unless I have a salad that can't be...
