Vitale's Pizza of Zeeland — Restaurant in Zeeland

Every Monday evening, my family and our friends dine in at Vitales after BSF. Our waitress is usually Jami, and once in a while we get Maiah. I highly recommend both girls!!! Over the past 9 months, we have been able to build a relationship with both of them and we always feel like we’re catching up with our friends when we come in. They are both so kind, welcoming, and top of everything! They always make sure our drinks are filled and our food is tasting how it should. We typically order the same thing each week, and they both always remember our order. The food is amazing each week and the kitchen is always consistent in the taste. (Also super fast!) We usually stay until close and they are always accommodating in allowing us to stay a couple minutes after to finish our food and fellowship.

One thing that stood out to me last night was that Jami was the only waitress in a full restaurant. Maiah wasn’t assigned to wait on tables, but she “saw the need and did the deed.” She took initiative to help Jami out wherever was needed.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight and had an awful experience. Our server was no where to be found after we got our food. We asked for a check and a box when she came back, and she offered to box our food for us. She dropped our food on the floor in the back. She told us she could get us another to go, or there was nothing she could do. Since we had only ate less than half of the food we asked for 50% off of that item. She said we could get $2-3 off of our bill. We asked for the manager and he told us he would go as high as $4 off of our bill, and that we were lucky that she didn't just pick up our food off the floor and box it, and if it were other server there they would have. We couldn't believe the words coming out of the managers mouth, and told him that that was unacceptable. after going back and forth he removed the item. We have had good service in the past, but this experience alone with the manager makes us never want...

Took the kiddos out for lunch while waiting on a quote at Venema's. Our server was Delia and she was excellent! Great with kids and very knowledgeable of the menu.

I ordered the taco salad, kids got the pizza with pepperoni.

Everything came out looking great. The kids pizza was delicious and the sauce had a sweetness to it which they liked. My taco salad was impressive, with the salsa having a nice kick to it. Not too spicy but just right. The shell was amazing. Flaky, almost pastry-like. Not crunchy to where it stabs your gums. The chicken had a good flavor too. Same with the garlic bread. It was on the softer side of garlic bread and good as well.

To top it off, I got a whole order of cinnamon bites for my birthday! Warm, soft, and buttery. A sweet ending to our meals :)
