Mercado Ferrando — Restaurant in Montevideo

We LOVE this place. Mostly we come to eat Poke (a traditional Hawaiian dish made from sushi grade fish+veggies). This is huge for me since I'm not accustomed to eat piles of meat, which is the tradition in Uruguay. Also, the bakery in the front has the BEST chocolate croissants in all of Montevideo. They're flakey and buttery, excellent quality. There's also a huge selection of craft beer at the bar in the back, and an outdoor seating area. Highly recommend if you're from the US and looking to take a break from all the delicious beef😂 My only complaint would be that they often leave the door to the outdoor area open, and that's where everyone smokes cigarettes (not cannabis, that doesn't bother me) so it blows inside where everyone is eating, which I can't stand. But other than that, this is one of our favorite place...

They have a shop Olas (you may find in pedidosia or Rappi as Olas del Mundo) which serves chicken Tikka and rice and it is really yummy 😋..

Also this place has "Samud' Bazar de Especias which sells different masalas.... Like dry coriander,dry Tulsi(basil), biriyani masala, tikka masala, Garam masala, basmati rice etc.

It's located within an old building that used to be a furniture factory, built in the early 1900s. The market is beautifully designed and laid out; it's got a small but varied culinary offer, ranging from craft beer and burgers to ice cream. Regarding seating arrangements, it's sort of a food court, with long tables meant to share with other people (there are also small ones if you'd rather seat on your own). I had a smoked salmon wrap and a few Scottish ales (not from the same establishment). Everything was delicious!
