Very famous restaurant but it doesn't deserve his celebrity. A big area where there is so loud music that you cannot talk with anybody and an area outside to join where the season is good. Ridicolous policy about menu: they have english menu without prices (uzbek menu has prices). I ask the waiter why menu doesn't show the prices. He answer: 'Because prices change all the time'. I suppose only prices for tourists change often... I order 'Sacrum' (because 'Profane' was not in the menu) strange name of lamb and beef stew dish, potatoes and one bier (wine was a compliment of a guy seated close to me). Low knowledge of english. Rate 3/5
Bassissima conoscenza...
Read moreI have no qualms with the service , the wait staff was attentive. But the food was a disaster. Prices are like European or American places which I have no problem with if the food is on point . We ordered the bread it was stale , instead of being flaky it was stringy and chewy. Horrible texture , I chewed and chewed but to no avail. Then came the manti which was the highlight. The lagman was boiled noodles and no taste whatsoever , mind you I’ve been to authentic Uyghur restaurants and this was no where near it. We ordered a chicken roll which had sausages and cheese just like a breakfast wrap but the salt was through the roof. Then came the beef puff which was again the puff was stale and the beef was chewy and all I tasted through the meal was salt.
Last but not the least the worse dish was a Georgian chicken stew in which the chicken was tough on wrestling and cutting through was raw all the way. I don’t think they care about the food.
I know when the sea food is stale a bite into it and the fish had this wretched smell to it which indicates that it was old fish
All they want is to push covers. I would not recommend this place to any foreigners or Americans. If you wanna try good food at this pricing...
Read moreWe walked in to this luxurious & beautiful Restaurant for lunch. The hostess led us to the centre of the dining hall near the Kitchen. First glance, the interior architecture is really impressive, looks like a ballroom. However, my sense of normalcy eventually changed a little, the interior decorations seems too much.(in my thought, its noisy). I feel its “beautiful to the point of ugliness”!!!
The waiter who takes our order speak little English. The Menu is Russian or English on Scan Code Mode. Food choices in the menu are a wide variety of traditional central Asian dishes. There is a Menu Booklet in Russian, unless you asked for English version, only then they deliver it to you !! Prices seem reasonable !
Waited half hour, food arrived, it was very good. But the services are a let down, the staff are not attentive, basically we need to look around for them to inquire when is our food coming.!!!
Last but not least, with the poor services, unattentive staff and slow food served moreover some food that we ordered differed from the Menu pictures, it is a very very unpleasant dining experience at the Samarqand...
