Traveled to Da Nang in early September 2018. Looked up some local seafood restaurants & found this one. Came around lunch time with only few customers inside the restaurant. This is huge place & faces to the white sand blue color beach.
Here is how you order. You first will be seated & restaurant staffs will tell you to go to the back corner where tanks & basins of seafood locate. There are boards of price per seasonal or kg of each seafood. Once you choose your seafood, you can tell a staff that helps you how you want those seafood to be cooked. Vietnamese uses lots of herbs & spices. For crab, lobster, shrimp, you can either charcoal grill or steam & eat with lime black pepper salt or dry fried salt & pepper. Tamarin sauce crab is another dish that you can try. Very unique flavor (sweet, sour, & spicy if you add chili). For snails, best is to steam or boil with lemongrass & chili, so aromatic, & dip with lime salt. Nothing better than drinking a glass of cold beer eating seafood in front of beautiful beach. There are people selling fresh coconut juice in the restaurant as well. All cash & pay at the end. People sell you coconut juice may ask to pay when they hand a coconut to you. Just remember to tell staffs that you already paid if any additional items add on the bill.
Speak Vietnamese will be great when you go to local restaurants. If not, google search first or show pictures.
Things need to do: always carry tissue (most local restaurants don't have toilet paper or towel tissue for you clean your hands & other parts), very common that you will be charged for wet towel, read a bill carefully, don't eat or open items that you don't order as most restaurants will just put things out without saying anything. Rule of thumb,...
Read moreBefore visiting BÉ MAN Seafood Restaurant, I came across mixed reviews online, with some customers mentioning concerns about expensive prices and extra charges for items like wet tissues, fruits, and peanuts. Despite this, I decided to give it a try as it had some positive feedback and was conveniently located near my hotel. After dining there, I’m so glad I did!
The seafood at BÉ MAN is incredibly fresh, with a wide variety to choose from. What stood out to me was the transparent process—customers can select their seafood, and the staff weighs it right in front of you. Each type of seafood has a clear price list in Vietnamese Dong per kilogram, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and proactive in ensuring a pleasant dining experience. They even helped clean the food waste from our dining table regularly, which added to the overall comfort. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had a relaxed atmosphere.
One thing that pleasantly surprised me was the free snacks provided without any extra charge, which counters some of the negative feedback I’d read earlier. Additionally, the restaurant’s strategic location right across from My Khe Beach makes it a perfect spot to enjoy fresh seafood while taking in the beautiful surroundings.
The prices were reasonable and affordable, especially considering this is a tourist hotspot. While it’s not the cheapest option, the quality, service, and location make it well worth it. I highly recommend trying the butter garlic tiger prawns—they were absolutely delicious!
Overall, BÉ MAN Seafood Restaurant exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely return. If you’re in the area, it’s...
Read moreVisit this place if you wish your meal to be ruined by big noise, mosquitos and rude messy service. I have to underscore here - the service at this restaurant is lower than low. Apparently they must have got too many customers who still came in because of all the hard-to-believe good reviews here that they didn’t care to be nice to customers at all.
We literally had to shout and yell to attract attention from a waiter nearby. No jokes. It was too freaking loud at this place and they were too rude to pay attention. Another waiter then swung by just to throw 2 empty bowls and glasses at us (which later we ended up not using because no one bothered to ask if we’d want drinks). As we wanted to order seafood, another waiter showed an irritating attitude that he was busy and we should remain standing. In the end they also messed up our order with a couple from the next table and overcharged us for a dish we didn’t eat.
To be objective I’d say the food wasn’t the worst. It was edible and above average but nothing exceptional compared to numerous seadfood restaurants you could find in town. This combined with the absolutely horrible experience which nearly ruined our evening is a guarantee we would never come back.
So go ahead and try it if you’d like to treat yourself with low star inferior service ❌
