Da Nang has hundreds of seafood restaurants and it's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of restaurants offering fresh/live seafood. We were very fortunate that this restaurant was 7 minutes from our Airbnb. We found it while we were pushing our little boy around so he could fall asleep for his afternoon nap. This restaurant also happened to be on my list of researched places to eat, so we decided to try it out once the boy had fallen asleep. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy but we were between meals 4pm. It's a big restaurant and there were 5 tables, all locals. When the food arrived, we knew right away the quality was fantastic and the seafood fresh. The service was beyond fantastic, my wife wanted a fresh coconut, something they didn't offer but the staff went down the street and bought one, charged us the cost of the coconut only and not extra for the service (we paid 25k VND for it). We got a mixture of clams, one booked with lemongrass and chilli and the other in a coconut sauce, both absolutely delicious. We also got the Thai squid and papaya salad, which was as good as you'd get in Thailand.
The restaurant was so good we have been there now 3 times in 4 days. One for lunch and twice for dinner, bringing my Vietnamese parents along with us. They really rate the good and I think we've tried pretty much all of their fresh seafood so far, we haven't had a disappointing dish yet. Our boy loves the chicken, which unfortunately does take about an hour as they cook it fresh and the minimum order is half a chicken. Works well for take away as he eats it late in the evening or in the morning.
This is very much a local joint, the locals love it and for good reason. They dishes are fantastic and cooked right. Beer will cost you 17k VND for a bottle of Saigon beer. It's about 70% cheaper than Lang Ca (the famous seafood restaurant in Da Nang, avoid it like the plague), and much cheaper than any of the beach side seafood restaurants. We were there on Tuesday night and the place was rammed. Tour buses turn up and go to the place opposite, this restaurant doesn't need to rely on that business as they get so busy with the locals. They do have an English menu, so ordering shouldn't be a problem. The staff are fantastic and they go above and beyond to make customers feel at home. It's a big and clean restaurant.
And despite what other reviews have said, it's not a Thai restaurant, I think they get a bit confused with the name.
I'd highly recommend this place for some great seafood, at a very, very reasonable price, where you are experiencing the local vibe. You won't be...
Read moreExcellent family friendly seafood restaurant, one of what must be a hundred similar establishments in this area of Danang, but the best one we visited. Reasonable prices for fresh fish, shellfish etc and you can pick out what you want, get it weighed and cooked in a variety of ways. We had a delicious barbecued fish. The menu extends well beyond seafood and we also enjoyed some fantastic pork ribs here. Be aware that they allow outside salespeople to wander around, which I personally like because they often have yummy things and it contributes to the local economy, but I know some people find it annoying, in which case you should stick to the high end tourist enclaves...
Read moreAs prior comments that this is a place for the authentic, and if you wanna have a taste for the seafood, please make sure in advance that you know the number in Vietnamese or check what you want from the food photos in reviews and ask the hotel staff to write down the list and quantity in Vietnamese. Now the staff have an app for ordering which shows the price for each food. If the price in the menu shows "thoi gia," that means the price is volatile depending on time or season. Basically each person may consume around VND 250,000. Hope it is helpful and prevents foreign visitors from...
