La Cabaña — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

We had an amazing meal last night at La Cabana!  From start to finish it was unreal.  As soon as we arrived we were met by a welcoming gentlemen who we later learned was the owner.  He and the staff were helpful, happy and attentive during the meal, always asking how things were or if we needed anything else.  I love the atmosphere and vibe of the place and the location is amazing.

Now for the food.  The highlights for me were: The chorizo meatball appetizer.  Amazing, flavorful chorizo meatballs and a tomato sauce that itself was perfectly seasoned and was completely stopped up by the accompanying bread. The sides - We got mushrooms, mashed potatoes, sautéed spiced potatoes, chimichurri asparagus and chimichurri vegetables.  We could taste the Mushrooms were cooked in red wine, and that was amazing, never had them cooked in wine before, I may have to try that next time I cook them.  The sautéed spiced potatoes were amazing, cooked perfectly with lots of peppers and onions and full of flavor (don't let the name fool you they are not spicy....but spiced, as in seasoned).  The veggies were all perfectly grilled and the chimichurri was great! Now for the meats!  We both order the 350gm Argentinian Ribeye - mine med-rare and Kathy's Med.  They were cooked perfectly, and the meat quality was great.  These were delicious and huge.  Kathy could not finish half of hers, so I may have helped her, somehow!  I cannot say enough about the quality and the cut of the meat.  Nice and thick, perfect amount of fat that was rendered well.

This place should certainly be on your list if you come to Da Nang!  You will not be...

We stumbled upon La Cabaña during our search for "Dragon Bridge rooftop bars". This is not a rooftop nor a bar. But it is in a relatively good location and serve good food in central Da Nang.

It was a dinner during March 8th - International Women's Day. They gave a free red rose for every woman in the restaurant visited, it was a very thoughtful and nice touch.

We had the Beef Platter in medium temperature and paired it with Rioja wine. This is enough to fill two stomachs, no need to order additional starters or sides. We're glad that our waitress had suggested that it's enough food for us too and didn't try to sell us any more food.

Food and wine was good. Steak were tender and tasty. Ambiance is nice as well. The red wine sauce was preferred because we have had better chimichurri in the past. The bustling streets were a nice touch to be in Vietnam. It makes the fine dining with a casual laid back touch making the whole experience a relaxing one. We were too fukl for a plate of dessert.

We would be interested to order burgers and pork ribs next time we are here.

But if you're planning here to get Instagram pictures of the dragon bridge fire and water show, this is not the best angle to watch it. There is a tree on the sidewalk street blocking the dragon's head. Across the street has another place called Marina Cafe that people come to for the dragon bridge show and they charge 10k for bike/motorcycle parking but free for any customers. I suggest you buy bottled water for 15k and get free...

I was surprised by the sheer amount of good reviews from this restaurant. Yesterday I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend to the rooftop area. I ordered a Wagyu burger while my girlfriend had pasta with chicken. We also ordered some cocktails. My margarita tasted really weird and really not something I recognized (and I order margarita cocktails all the time when I go for night dinning). To put it simply it tasted like something bland with alcohol in it. My girlfriend ate the pasta and in the middle of it, she found raw chicken in it. She called the waitress because there was definitely something wrong with it. The waitress got the plate and delivered to the kitchen. She came back and apologized and said that the chef said that it was definitely not supposed to be like that. How do you deliver raw chicken to your customers? It's something that shouldn't be happening in any way. My girlfriend fully lost her appetite after this and did not want another pasta. Today my girlfriend has not been feeling good for the entire day, she stayed in bed and hasn't been able to do much. She has been throwing up. It ruined our trip. I am writing this review to make sure this restaurant does not commit the same mistake again, because I think it's very bad and dangerous to commit a mistake like this.

The only reason I am not giving it 1 star is because the Wagyu burger was fine and the waitress was professional.

I would not recommend anyone coming here for the fear of this...
