We had a nice meal here with a variety of dishes. The food was mostly good, but there's also some room for improvement. Let's start with the welcome. Drinks were served quickly and we got a small cup of chips and very tasty salsa, which is always appreciated. Margaritas were delicious and cheap but tiny. They should offer a pitcher or at least a much bigger glass. Baja fish tacos were great. Nice homemade tortillas. No way you could actually pick it up and eat it as a taco, tho, lol (see pic). We had both the Enchiladas Suizas and Mole, the only difference being the sauce. The sauce on both were great. But the chicken inside had no seasoning at all. I know that's difference typical of authentic Mexican cooking, but I think it's an area where TexMex / Intl Mex is better. Meat filings are just so much better with seasoning. The only item we didn't like was the Quesadilla. The cheese wasn't really melted. I'd give that one a miss next time. The place itself is small and chill, but not ideal for young kids because they only have tall bar- style tables inside, although we managed alright. They accept credit cards without adding any extra charges. Overall, I'd highly recommend this spot when looking for Mexican in Danang, and don't miss...
Read moreI think I never wanted to love a place more than this one. I read some comments and went with high expectations. Man was I disappointed.
The inside place, the part on the right was hotter than a sauna. By the time the AC started to cool the room, we were leaving.
The tables were dirty with baby and grown white spiders all over it. When we got our plates, ants were running over it.
The horchata was hot and not creamy.
The tortillas were bland. A pinch of salt goes a long way. The barbecoa taco was delicious. It is the reason I give two points for the food. We tried the shrimp and pork one and they unfortunately didn't deliver on flavor.
The lime wedges and slices didn't have any juice left.
They didn't have anything with mole. That was a true heartbreak despite it being on the menu. We went there to eat it.
They should write the spice level of the dishes.
I am so sorry but I left so disappointed. Mexican food is my favorite food. I traveled a very long way to try and taste supposedly authentic flavors...I do hope you address all of these, especially the hygiene and I might come back a couple years...
Read moreThe enchiladas Suizas were so good, a perfect balance of tang and creaminess, I forgot my manners and inhaled them, barely offering any to share with my sweetheart 🤭 even though she shared with me her tasty, tender barbacoa taco.
The famous tortillas and addictive totopos and salsa are all made in-house with ingredients imported from Mexico. The michelada mix, as well; though it's sweet tamarindo, while I prefer the tomato juice version. The margarita is made with Jose Cuervo and Cointreau instead of cheap triple sec, and they use a festive ice ball that is half lime juice, half ice, separated by a slice of lime.
Service was pleasant and accommodating but could be more proactive; though, anticipating another drink needed seems not to be the norm by wait staff in Vietnam.
The atmosphere can be improved and they're currently working on it. Hopefully, they can soften the decor and dim the lights a bit.
The lovely owners are from CDMX and have diligently brought their culture to Vietnam. Gracias, Laura y...
