I was really disappointed with my stay at Livie Da Nang. I had high hopes after seeing the nice photos, but that's largely where the positives end.
From the beginning, there was sporadic and bad/awkward communication from "the Livie team" - unclear whether this was some remote management or someone on site. They asked for my preferred communication platform and for my contact information there, so it was their prerogative to try to be proactive with the communication, but they would have been better off doing nothing. The night prior, I had asked for early check-in if available. I understand this is not always possible, which is fine. But despite saying that it should be fine, it turns out they couldn’t even have it ready by the 3pm check-in guarantee. This was really disappointing.
It was a cold check-in process. Very impersonal - it feels like it's designed to minimize human interaction (I basically had to search around for someone to help me check in, since I did not receive the check-in instructions by text until later that evening. It appears that someone from management was there present during my check-in, sitting a few feet away, but never bothered to acknowledge me or say hi, or welcome, or anything.
More cons: For at least 20 minutes, no hot water in the shower. Then it would go from scalding hot to cold and nothing in between. Very poor sound insulation - could hear everything from the street, next door rooms, and cafe seating below. There were bugs inside of the room. There was a light flickering on and off automatically, when I was just sitting at the edge of the bed. This was super annoying.
The one employee I met was nice but I felt like she was dealt a bad hand by management.
Lastly, just for the cherry on top - I received the check-out message received 5 hours after checking out (which I did in person and via text).
This place has potential, as it is nicely designed, but it seems to be very neglected by management currently and has zero...
Read moreLocated within walking distance just north of the major tourist hotspots of My Khe, LIVIE Da Nang is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to get away from crowds without sacrificing the convenience of being in the city. It’s within a 10-15 minute drive of downtown, a short 15 minute walk from the public beach fronts, 15 minutes from Son Trả peninsula, and is located well within reach of convenience stores and smaller less populated beaches along the coast.
LIVIE also is located above an affordable and delicious cafe with Korean cuisine, Vietnamese and Italian coffee, and smoothies and juices. Below the restaurant is a cozy bar with a great atmosphere and good drinks.
The staff is multilingual, with great English skills. They’re very attentive, and are very open to communication.
The rooms are very clean, and are full of amenities such as a kitchenette with stove, exhaust fan, sink, kettle, dishes, and a fridge. Located on the roof is a pool, tables and chairs for guests to use, as well as a grill to cook your own food.
Highly recommend booking a balcony room for a nice view.

Literally the only con was the shower temperature. Hot water is a tad bit inconsistent, likely due to the fact that they use solar to heat up their water for the all the rooms, which I think is a good thing. If you take cold shower, you’ll be fine.
Overall, I highly recommend staying at LIVIE Da Nang Style for your...
Read moreThe room was very clean and tidy. It was a small room but it felt spacious. Loved the fact that the room is equipped with water purifier. Netflix is working well, but the room was not soundproofing enough. Cleaning staffs visit you very early in the morning around 9am, which can be disturbing for some people who still need sleep. At that time I was just getting out of shower but they try to enter the room so quickly that almost caused uncomfortable situation. Also you have to wait for about 5 minutes to use hot water for the bath. It might not matter when it’s middle of summer, but in rainy season it may become a concern.
The explanation of the room in booking site can be misleading. When I was making reservation I thought I would have a balcony for studio room because that’s how the picture showed. That was also the main reason I chose the hotel as well as the room. However it was quite disappointing to found out there’s a discrepancy between the description and actual room condition.
I won’t attach the photo, but I also found the tiny blood stain in...
