Sound cafe — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

I found the Sound Café by chance and I am so glad I did.

If you love great coffee, beer, atmosphere, design and music, the Sound Café is an essential visit!

The Sound Café is a wonderfully different cafe and bar on a quiet Da Nang street . Different because of the amazing music theme centred around a Hi-Fi system of the kind and quality you have probably never heard. It is true HiFi. Not loud, not imposing and you will be pleasantly shocked how beautiful, natural, and authentic all music sounds. You will hear things in recordings you have never heard, felt or experienced before.

The speakers are the stars of the show - a pair of 4 way horn based speakers designed and made by the owner. They are driven with a combination of his valve and solid state amplifiers. He caters for all music sources including vinyl, CD, streaming (he let me connect my Roon app to his network!) and reel-reel!

The owner is a true audiophile, and like us all, loves to shares his passion. In no time, just like old friends, we were sharing tracks and Hi-Fi pictures!

I walked past this place and it caught my eye. Ended up looking it up later on, reading reviews, and came back to it.

Totally makes sense. What a good vibe. A cafe/bar focused around music and the atmosphere that it creates.

I say this as one lone traveler who was keen enough to go inside...if you go in, and start talking to the people that work here, you won't regret it.

Shout out to Hùng for the amazing cocktails, that suited me perfectly for the night, but also to the owner for curating such a cool space to hang out in.

I just wish I had more time to indulge in, and share music.

Edit: I came back. I spent a few hours having beers, cocktails and talking to the owner about music, while he took me on a deep dive through vietnamese music and how it has changed over the years. I was also able to share a song or two from NZ.
