We stayed at Palm Garden Resort Hoi An for a short couple’s getaway, choosing one of the cheaper garden-view rooms rather than upgrading to the more expensive beachside or bungalow options.

The Grounds & Location: The resort itself is undeniably beautiful—lush tropical gardens, palm-lined walkways, and a peaceful beachfront stretch just outside the main hustle of Hoi An. It’s located around 10 minutes by taxi or shuttle to the Ancient Town, which makes it a great base for relaxing while still being close to the action.

The Room (Budget Option): The cheaper room was clean and functional, but definitely lacking the charm and finish you'd expect from the resort’s five-star branding. Furnishings were a little dated, and the bathroom felt basic. No wow factor—but perfectly comfortable for sleeping and showering, which suited our needs for a short stay. We were offered a paid upgrade to the beachfront rooms, but decided to save the money—and don’t regret it, as we still had access to all the resort amenities.

Amenities & Pool: The pool area is the standout—huge, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas, surrounded by greenery and steps from the beach. We spent most of our time here, and it truly made the stay feel luxurious even though we were in a more affordable room. The beach is quiet and clean, and there are water sports available. Service by the pool and beach was friendly, though drinks were a bit pricey.

Food & Breakfast: Breakfast was included and impressive—a large buffet with both Western and Vietnamese options, freshly cooked eggs, fruit, pastries, and even pho. We didn’t eat at the resort restaurant for dinner, opting to head into town or walk to some nearby beachside cafes, which were cheaper and more authentic.

Service: Staff were warm, professional, and accommodating, especially at reception and during breakfast service. We never felt overlooked despite staying in the less expensive room category.

Verdict: Palm Garden Resort is a great choice for couples wanting a balance of comfort and resort-style relaxation without breaking the bank. The budget rooms won’t blow you away, but the beautiful grounds, top-notch pool, and beachfront location more than make up for it. We absolutely loved the Palm Garden Beach Resort. The resort complex is beautiful, very well maintained, clean and modern. There is a large pool area that is also very well maintained. It is only a few meters to the beach and sea. There is direct access to a private beach. There are several loungers and a very chic beach bar where you can get drinks and small snacks during the day and evening. We can especially recommend the happy hour, where they mix very tasty cocktails that you can enjoy with a view of the sea. The food (we had booked breakfast) was excellent. There was a very large selection and many freshly prepared dishes. We found it particularly nice that there were also traditional Vietnamese dishes. However, there are also classic international/western breakfast options - there is something for everyone. The hotel offers a very high level of comfort. Bicycles can be borrowed free of charge and there is also a free daily shuttle to Hoi An. What really stands out is the warm and friendly staff. Such friendliness and willingness to help is truly extraordinary! We received help straight away with every question or concern. In addition, the staff was very attentive and always tried to give us the best possible stay. We really took many of the employees to our hearts. You can explore the area on bicycles, ride through rice fields and try typical Vietnamese cuisine. Restaurants and small shops are in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel also has two restaurants where you can also eat very well. We would like to give it more than 5 stars because the hotel with all its services and great staff is really a stroke of luck and is also in a paradise location. We'll definitely be back. First off I want to say if you have any doubt about Palm as a venue for a wedding/event or for a relaxing vacation, don’t hesitate! During our stay we met a couple who have been going back every year for 8 years and we completely understand why after spending a week there and having our wedding overlooking the beach there.

Palm is the single most amazing place I have stayed in my 5 years living in Vietnam, and it’s not the amazing location or delicious buffet breakfast that makes it but the people. The staff at Palm are kind, caring, thoughtful and so friendly you feel like you’re staying with family.

Every morning I was greeted by Mr Ha and the F&B team, who made sure every day leading up to the wedding as as stress-free and relaxing as possible.

Mr Thi helped my family around the resort with the buggy and cut coconuts from the trees for us. Mr Vy from customer relations was always around checking in and chatting with me and my guests. He even played tennis and table with my celebrant who had a really great time!

The wedding itself it felt like all the teams were completely invested in making it the most special day of our lives. Ms Lanh was there all day helping with the setup and coordinating and translating difficult phrases, and she worked so hard to make sure everything was just right.

Mr Ha was making cocktails and keeping me calm before the ceremony, and checking in with me throughout the night to make sure everything ran like clockwork.

Ms Nhi made us the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and such an incredible backdrop for the wedding with so many beautiful flowers.

The kitchen staff prepared unbelievable food for us and it was absolutely delicious and we couldn’t stop eating even when we were stuffed. My vegan friends told me they had the best vegan food of their lives.

I cannot express how perfect our time at Palm was and I want to give a huge thank you to all the teams for making it so special for us.
