Good quality for Vietnam, I think. Not quite like home, but it might hit the spot if certain conditions are met.
I wish they'd do beef enchiladas but the chicken is good. I remember they used to do pork enchiladas, or I thought they did.
I'd like to see bigger glasses of horchata or maybe an iced tea option, which would be well in keeping with the Texas tradition.
They had 'run out' of guac, which was unfortunate.
3 agua frescas, an enchilada plate, 3 tacos, an appetizer and children's quesadillas came to nearly 1 mill VND. I was in the mood to celebrate so I wasn't so concerned about the pricing at first but then the atmosphere kind of wore on me and began to alter my perspective.
Not totally sure if this is the place for families with little kids. I used to come here some years ago; I suppose I was better accustomed to the hipster culture back then. The smoking policy seems lax as we had to eat while 2 customers smoked nearby. That ruined my meal and I was unhappy I brought my kids around that nonsense. The area is not so spacious so you are in close proximity to the sort of carrying on that can verge on craft brew eatery vibe depending on what level of boozing is occurring around you.
The bill comes with a service charge whether you find the service friendly and helpful or otherwise. Staff did their job today but one of the servers was really into his phone and I find it annoying when you are treated as an imposition when you need a Coke or ask where your chips and queso are. No cards accepted, only bank transfer.
Overall, the meal had its positives but then the annoyances outweighed the rewards making the price point seem high and my appetite somewhat unsatisfied. My kid didn't eat his quesadillas and no one seemed to notice; I wouldn't say it was a particularly...
Read moreresponse to response: that is an outright lie since I live in Vietnam I am not a tourist and I know the prices and the cost of overhead for running a business in the area. and of course you will not agree with the truth. Solo estan dando gato por liebre..
I will start my review by saying this. This is my and my fiancee personal opinion.. The staff was nice but brought the food out before our drinks The taco platter was 3 "different" types of filling but as they say in Vietnam it was same same but different. The "tortilla" was not even close to being a tortilla unless you are a PC person and believe that whatever they serve has the right to identify itself as a tortilla. The burrito had the same identity crisis as the tortilla but with overweight problems Price oh my God let's just say I could of had a fine dining experience and still saved money.
Now I will end this review with a few more comments but let's add a very good thing which was the cheese dip but not the "chips".. I will add that I myself am Mexican and come from a family which owns quite a few restaurants in the UD and in Mexico so NO PINCHES MAMEN this was an insult to mybtaste buds and...
Read moreGreat service, decent food, and ok atmosphere. I always have a great time here, and they have a super awesome happy hour.
The tacos are good enough to satisfy the craving for Mexican food, but they're not amazing. The tortillas tend to be a bit soggy and the meat not flavorful enough. I definitely recommend the carnitas (it's always my fav option), but I really wish they had some chorizo tacos. The cocktails are also a bit watery, but they have some great options for food and cocktails. Lots of options for margaritas!! The fruity margaritas go sweet, while the cucumber or jalapeno are more refreshing.
I will also say that the service here is always great. The servers are friendly and attentive.
My biggest gripe is the atmosphere. It feels cheap and overstated. With distasteful neon pink lights blaring, I feel as though I'm in a 1970s movie in Miami.
In conclusion, this is a great restaurant to get your Mexican fill with some good service. They could improve on their atmosphere, but it's...
