Highly respected (Michelin mentioned but not starred) Vietnamese restaurant in the Tay Ho area. Cash, credit cards & e-wallet payments accepted. English spoken.
Menu is not massive but provides good options for a variety of tastes. Cost is higher than many places in Hanoi but certainly not unreasonable given the quality of the food.
Drinks include mocktails, juices, teas, coffees, wine, beer and a small selection of cocktails such as margaritas, mojitos, etc. Something for everyone.
Fried crab rolls are incredibly crisp and delicious. Non-fried fresh spring-rolls are packed with fresh veggies and shrimp. Grilled pork is incredible, and the prawns are also quite good but not the best you've ever eaten. Stir-fried veggies are have a pleasant crispness to them still and are flavored well. Pork belly is very tender and served in a delicious sauce with just a hint of heat.
I strongly encourage ordering starters and sharing those but the full meals are undoubtedly impressive as well. Outdoor and indoor dining but space is limited so you may want to inquire about...
Read moreAmazing restaurant in a hidden corner of Tay Ho. We tried to have lunch here for days, but it was always busy. Today was our lucky day and it was worth the wait. Our server was so friendly, energetic and professional, we were impressed that he spoke multiple languages. Service was fast and efficient, they anticipated any need we had. The food was outstanding, they were small portions, but the magic was in the flavour. We had the prawns in a coconut which delicate sweet flavour to it. The bok choy was cooked in a delicious sauce finger licking good. The crab nem actually really tasted like crab. By the time the banana cake with ice cream on top came to our table, we were to full to baste in its greatness, we couldn't manage to finish it. This tiny Michelin restaurant is definitely worth the hype, it's high quality at an affordable price; 700-800k dong for 2 people....
Read moreWe went to the new Chao Ban location to check it out, since we loved the other locations and have been there several times. The owner is very kind and easygoing. He gave us some information that only cash and QR was available right now, as they had just reopened. He also informed us of a new dish, that sounded absolutely delicious. There is several outdoor tables you can dine in, and there is a large pond, giving it a nice atmosphere. Then you climb the stairs and enter the cozy interior. It is delicately furnished, and very cozy and comfortable. The windows were open when we came, giving the room a nice breeze flowing on and out. The food came quickly and was perfectly warm, just right for someone who can’t eat hot food easily. Overall, this was the perfect place to eat dinner with my family and wrap up a nice...
