I lived and work in Hanoi for a year, all the while staying at the Oakwood. Here you get the best of both worlds. You get your own apartment with all of the amenities you’d expect, but in addition you get the amenities of a luxury hotel. The Oakwood has a great fitness center, including a gym, sauna and swimming pool, as well as a restaurant and lounge providing regular food and drink service. The views from the apartments overlook the beautiful West Lake and vibrant Tay Ho community. The main source of satisfaction for me, however, are the people that work there.

My experience with the staff at the Oakwood was always positive. In fact, when word got around that I was studying Vietnamese, they all started to practice the language with me whenever we’d encounter each other. I was usually greeted at the front desk by Hannah, Ly or Quynh, all of who were friendly and always wiling to help me with anything I needed. Ms. Quynh, in particular, would take the time to practice Vietnamese with me, always being patient and even teaching me new words and phrases. I also had great experience with the housekeeping staff. When you have someone coming into your home on a regular basis, it is important to feel like they are not strangers and you are comfortable with them. I had the most experience with Thuong, Lan, and Thuy, all of whom were friendly and hardworking.

If I had the chance to come back to Hanoi, I would like to stay here again because I know I would surrounded by good people. I also want to recognize Tom, Ms. Claire, and Ms. Hanh. I could see how their leadership positively influenced the atmosphere of...

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Oakwood Residence Hanoi and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter. The quiet and calm surroundings make it a perfect choice for a relaxing stay.

The apartment is big and impeccably clean, providing all the comforts of home. One of the highlights for us was the washer and dryer in the apartment, which allowed us to get most of our laundry done before heading back home!

Another feature we loved was the all-season pool. It was such a treat to take a dip anytime, even with the chilly weather outside.

The breakfast spread was somewhat limited, but the quality of the food was excellent, and we appreciated the care put into the selection.

The staff were also very friendly, always ready to assist and make us feel welcome throughout our stay.

However, there were a couple of disappointments: I had requested a high floor, thinking it would offer a lake view, but instead, we were given a low floor room that overlooked other houses, which was a bit of a letdown. Additionally, I had specifically asked for daily changes to the bedsheets and towels due to my sensitive skin, but on the third day, I noticed the same stain on the bedsheet as before. While this was disappointing, I hope it was an isolated issue.
