Had a home delivery from this Chinese restaurant and it was full of disappointment. I would rate it below average.
Additional Review After I got a Response from the Restaurant:
I am not sure what's my nationality or what language is used to write the review has got anything to do with the review itself? I am finding it amusing why you would be asking such question.
I was being very generous to give this restaurant 2 stars. In my personal opinion, the dishes that I ordered from this restaurants are not Chinese food at all albeit their names mislead you to think they are Chinese food. Also a bit of background, we wanted to go and dine here at some point, but we thought perhaps let's just try home delivery first before we dine there in person. I am glad that we tried home delivery first. Here's a bit more details on the food that we ordered and why I think it's way below average.
This is what we ordered: Spring rolls Prawn Toast House Special Chow Mein Hot and Sour Soup. Scallop, pork, prawn &sesame shumai (dim sim serve) .
The first impression was not good, all the plastic takeaway containers were wrapped in the thin plastic cling wrap. First of all, not environmental friendly and sustainable, 2nd it ruined the deep-fried food like the spring rolls and prawn toast, make them all go soggy. I was hoping the flavour and texture would be ok, but no, tasted very plain and awful, the vege in the spring rolls seems to be off to me. Nothing exciting about these two dishes.
The scallop, pork prawn dumpling was ok as it was steamed; however there's nothing really special about this dish, the skin is thick so you can't really taste much of the filling. To be fair, we have no high expectation on the dumpling here anyway.
The hot and sour soup is so watery, think of it like boiled water with some over cooked bokchoy and vinegar/chilli paste... Does it sound enticing? , It was hot and sour but nothing like any Chinese Hot and Sour soup that I've had in my entire life and I have' had lots of Chinese from different places. Do a quick google search for Chinese Hot and Sour soup and whatever first hit you find on the Internet is not this. I would give this 1/10 for this soup right here.
Usually with the Chowmein, you'll get two options either the soft noodles or crispy noodle. Here you get the soft noodle version, it was tossed with too much hoisin sauce and possibly extra sugar or msg so it tasted really sweet, if I had in a bowl, it would have probably looked like s soup dish rather than stir fried dish. The noodles were soft and soggy, the chicken was chicken breast which is just purely plain chicken breast, not marinated and just did not taste good. I think the only thing in that dish which was OK is probably the prawn and the pork charsiu - (don't think this this a compliment , it is just less bad - doesn't mean that it's good.).
I can only comment about the food that I ordered, but with these basic dishes, they haven't got it right, I don't think I'll be brave enough to try other more fancy dishes like the peking duck. I think there's alot of room for improvement at this "Chinese Restaurant".
We've had Chinese food from John Anthony , Crystal Jade - before John Anthony at the JW Marriott, Golden Dragon at the Hanoi Hotel, Red River at Lotte, Ming at Pan Pacific etc... I would call those Chinese food, but not the food from this restaurant. Please note that this is not about the star rating, or the market range, it's about the fundamental taste, texture and flavor...
Read moreI would give this place a zero if I could. We ordered food through grab to be delivered to our hotel tonight as we had a sick child. We ordered food at 8pm and they initially advised that it will be delivered by 855 to 910pm. After a while delivery time changed to 920pm advising delayed as “no drivers” available. Delivery time kept changing till 10pm then resturant cancelled order as no driver available…. After waiting for TWO Hours we had to go finding food at 10pm. What an absolutely crap service and no customer service. Cancel the order earlier if you know you can’t deliver, kids were sick and waiting for food and didn’t eat till 11pm… don’t run a resturant if you are incompetent with...
Read moreWe arrived in Hanoi late at night. After checking-in the hotel, we found this restaurant on Google and decided to give them a call to ask if the kitchen was still open. Once we got to the restaurant, we were greeted by two beautiful ladies. One of them asked if I just called then she lead us to our table.
We ordered Chow mein chicken and Peking duck. Everything was so delicious! The service was really good. While we were eating, there was a beautiful lady with bikini started dancing next to our table. It was such a unique experience!
We would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food, drinks, and beautiful ladies ☺️
We will come back again next time we...
