Ben Tau is a family run restaurant in Hoi An, across from Palm Beach Resort Hotel. This restaurant, run by Lily and all her family is an amazing place, so cheap for food and drinks. Fresh fish is cooked to order and all food is served with fresh vegetables grown in their own garden. Lily speaks amazing English and her smile and happy to help manner is so endearing. She and her family (along with Lily’s cute little son) go way out to ensure everything is perfect on your visit. They also do laundry service (so cheap) and can arrange a number of many excursions they have on offer. My husband and I could not rate this restaurant highly enough. Lily and family became really good friends with us during our visit and we would definitely visit there again. Please give this place a try when visiting the Hoi An area, you will enjoy...

Let's be honest here - this is not "genuine" Vietnamese food. It is westernised, flavour free food catering for foreigners.

All the glowing reviews here are clearly from people venturing out from their all inclusive resorts nearby, mistakenly thinking they are having an authentic experience because it is run by a local family.

The services should be a give away: menu with bonus section of burgers and pizza, massage parlour, tour bookings and money exchange.

That is not to talk down the place. They are catering for exactly what the nearby clientele want.

Very nice owner. Power went out on the whole block when sitting in and the owner brought a lit candle, while waiting for their backup generator to turn on. Very ambient. Food was also very nice, but small portions. However, very cheap prices as well which works out for the size of the dishes. Tables were nice and they provided very nice chopsticks. The owner was helpful in giving us information about various tours that the shop also runs, as well as their laundry service. Drinks were cheap and the cocktails...
