I don't know where to begin. We got in to Hoi An later in the afternoon, after lunch but before dinner and in the rain and, this place just happened to be a short walk from our house so we stopped in. The first thing you are confronted by is the beautiful garden of greens and flowers the house/restaurant is situated around so we were immediately happy. Our "server," was a lovely young girl with great English who sat us, took our order, and then let us know her mother was running to the market to get some things she needed for our order.
The food took time to prepare, and they have a great sign letting customers now everything is made to order not waiting to be reheated, and we just had the best time with our tea and coffee enjoying our surroundings and waiting for the food, which surprise, was delicious.
We ordered the pork fried rice, Hoi An shredded chicken rice, fried wontons (which were nothing like the picture in the best way possible,) and sauteed morning glory with garlic.
We usually don't frequent the same places twice because we are always looking to try new spots but we already said to ourselves we'll be back because there was so much more on the menu we...
Read moreWe just love this little restaurant! It is run by a very friendly local lady who cooks delicious food. Her daughters help with taking the orders and serving the food and everything is cooked from scratch and fresh when you order it. It hands down beats the restaurants that we tried in the old town. We particularly loved the fresh rice paper rolls, the green mango salad and the fried rice. The fried rice has amazing crunchy bits in it which are so yummy and unlike any other fried rice that we had tasted before. The banana and pineapple pancakes for dessert are also mouthwatering. Order them with a portion of coconut ice cream for a fabulous combo. We have eaten there two nights running and will more than likely head back for a third! Oh, and it’s very...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing cooking class! Can’t revimmend highly enough! Thao was an excellent host. We met at the restaurant at 8:30 having already picked our 4 dishes to make off the extensive menu (you can pick anything you want!). We headed off on our bikes for a tour of the local markets. Thao answered every question we could possibly think of and with our ingredients in hand we headed back to the restaurant to get cooking. It was so much fun, we learnt so much and managed to produce delicious dishes! And no washing up.
I cannot overstate how great this class is- much better than the big group ones where everything is done for you. We would definitely do it again with different dishes next time we...
