Blu Bar & Grill Restaurant — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

They are a little slow. I usually order two items, and I usually wait for both items to come out before eating so I can compare the two. I was kind of hungry, and waiting for the burger took long enough. I ate the entire burger & fries before burrito even came out.

As a burger (Blu Burger - 175K/$6.90), it was a thicker patty, decent size. It's pretty well done, but still kind of juicy. Parts tasted seasoned others didn't. However, overall, it was still a pretty good burger. Everything tasted fresh. Standard fries, but better than some other places I've been to recently.

For the price, this specific burger was more than what I had at Back's and Burger Meister. I might prefer the others.

The Blu Burger is definitely better than the beef burrito (155K/$6.10). I was a little surprised at how it looked. It was a little small. The ground beef inside didn't taste great. The Mexican rice did taste pretty good, but it was a pretty plain burrito, not worth getting in my opinion.

I enjoy coming here for lunch however our latest experience left us quite unhappy ☹️ and hungry 🤤. Restaurant was quite empty so there wasn’t much pressure on the kitchen staff.

We ordered the lunch set.

Starters The mushroom soup was passable I guess and Greek salad was ok 👍

Mains Our Mains were just absolutely lacking, the Mexican cream cheese avocado with Mexican style rice (rice was inedible) cold, hard, dry, days old rice 🤢

I had the blue cheese stuffed Chicken with mushroom sauce with vegetables There was no mushroom sauce, just some brown water with some mushrooms and the chicken was completely overcooked and hard

So hard my knife couldn’t slice it in any way and the blue cheese was somewhere I couldn’t find. 🤯

It’s very hard to mess up rice, chicken breast and mushroom sauce, but this cook was adamant in trying to destroy every part...

Really sad update. the wonderful owner passed away during covid lockdown. His staff tried their best to carry on after his demise, but business was too slow and they had to close the Riverside location. A new restaurant will open up in it's place... so we wish the owners of Blu good luck as they will try to reopen somewhere else and we hope the new restaurant lives up to the quality that once was.

lovely, peaceful, parklike setting right on the river. gracious service, very reasonable prices and really good food. pretty eclectic menu...

the owner also has Ciao Bella in D1 and at their new location right across the street.
