We didn’t have a great experience with this specific Annam. We entered the supermarket and saw tables inside, so we assumed we could eat in there. Then came to a section with prepared meal ready to eat and asked to warm up the food. We waited like forever to get the hot (almost) dishes and were told we have to pay for it at the cash desk, the one you go to when you exit the store (that section doesn’t have its own cash desk), so that then we could come back and take a seat to finally eat. Idk, this was really ridiculous. Why do you place tables with chairs inside then? The second thing was the desserts we wanted to buy together with the products but discovered we needed to pay for the products first and then go out to the bakery section in a mall and buy the desserts over there. Ok, can accept that. But when I buy a piece of cake for 50k+ I expect to have an adequate portion not a tiny slice as in the picture. Only apple pie was normal sized but it was so-so — dry dough and tasteless wet apples. Red velvet cake was pretty good though, I would recommend it. NY cheesecake was just ok, the foundation is perfect but something was a bit wrong with the cheese layer that I couldn’t figure out. Apart from that, the selection of products in the store is really good. A bit pricey compared to similar places but Annam offers a comfortable shopping...
Read moreHad breakfast at their cafe at the mall this morning as I was killing some time while my wife was teaching some classes at the apartments here.
So thought I would pop in to try their version of a Full English breakfast as I have always loved Annam's grocery products.
Therefore I had super high expectations that this would be a banging brekkie that would really hit the spot.
In some aspects it did. The service was good, the fresh brewed coffee a great wake up call, the tomatoes and mushrooms nicely seasoned, hash browns light and crispy, toast fluffy with a good butter and beans decent.
However the bacon was stone cold and fat not properly rendered, the sausages were undercooked and the poached eggs were the most dismal of all as you can see on the pictures they have been well overcooked and were sadly lacking that yummy, creamy, oozing yolk that they should have.
No HP brown sauce or Annam own brown sauce was available just a trash version of a tomato sauce.
So although there were a few positives from this meal, I will not be having breakfast at one of Annam's cafes again and was dissapointed with the severe lack of expertise that their kitchen team has or should I say doesn't have.

Read moreStore is nice as usual with lots of quality products. But the evening staff for the bakery section in this particular Estella location were disatisfying. I went to buy ice cream but the staff just kept looking, did not ask for anything or show any kind of initiative in offering services. Then I had to call out and the guy responded slowly, but then he asked another staff who was inside and busy with another job to do it. The lady looked at us and kept discussing with the other guy about who can get the ice-cream 🙄 then the lady turned around, asked us in a very annoyed manner which flavors do we want. I really don’t know why selling ice-cream for customers can be that difficult. Besides this, 2/3 times we went asking for the waffle, each time they said it’s out of product or the machine was broken. So disappointed. We never experienced this at other Annam stores so the Estella one will hopefully improve...
