I think Cheongdam is one of the korean restaurants that offers versatile and very good banchan (side dishes). In the battle of Korean grills, banchan is a key. I love how they make sure they keep changing it every now and then so it’s not boring. Prices are average as well. The lunch set is also very worth it. Not much soup and noodles to choose from and drinks are quite expensive. The place is averagely clean and staff are cheerful. It has a bit of a dark ambiance which is suitable for drinking. Good foods!
EDIT: I’ve got to edit my rate. After a view visits, I realised only the banchan is good here but quality of meat and taste of some dishes aren’t that good quality. Also tried the soybean paste soup and wasn’t satisfied. The staff around here aren’t very professional although attentive and polite. It feels like a teenage playground with them playing all around and yelling and shouting even inappropriate things and words. I think that beings...
Read moreI'm a regular at this restaurant, dining there once a week as my children enjoy the food so much.
What keeps us going back (and having tried a couple of other K-BBQ and J-BBQ restaurants) is its authenticity, great food and warm and hospitable service.
I highly recommend the skirt steak and short rib, and pork belly and jowl.
The tartare is to must-order dish as well as its seasoned beautifully.
A personal favorite of mine is the cabbage kimchi, done in the style of Korean coastal cities (or so I've been told) where its less tangy and spicier.
Other dishes that I'd recommend are the beef short rib soup and kimchi fried rice.
If you don't want the smell of grill meats lingering on your clothes, you can request for them to do it for you at the central bbq station (for a small fee).
Overall, a great dining experience and friendly on the wallet.
I highly recommend...
Read moreWe had a good experience here last night. Ms Trúc did an excellent service, she is knowledgeable and helpful. The banchan varieties were wide and delicious, we enjoyed most of the banchan dishes, especially the marinated raw crabs and pickled Perilla leaves. The meat portions were big hence explained the price charges, for two pax we couldn’t finish the 2 portions of pork so we took away some. Veggies to wrap were served fresh.
Environment is fine, not fancy, soft tone music, just the chair and table gap are quite big for Vietnamese size, so when sat down we felt a bit uncomfortable.
2nd visit the week after: we tried Cold noodles and Bibimbap, both were good. We were served with banchan too, and we loved them all. Service was great, attentive and...
