Calmo - The Tonic Bar Tân Cảng — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

First time hit a bar so I couldn’t care less about everything! My friend took me there at around 9pm on Saturday and we were the only indoor guests however the spot became busier when it arrived ~10pm and they were full stack at around 10:30pm.

The beverage for me (first time ever) was customized by the bartender, I didn’t have the picture so I can only descripe by word: Pink liquid, low alcohol (but I’m still red and dizzy), a small dried orange (i think). It didn’t fit my alcohol level at first however the barterder spotted my confusion and he diluted it for me so it became easier to drink.

My friend got an old fashioned(as if I’m not mistaken), I asked for a sip and the alcohol was much more higher than mine but he seems cool about it. One try only hehe!

My friend took me there in the first place not only because the beverage it also had a special jazz live. They played many songs but remixed so it became jazzy ^^ Sipping and listening to jazzy (Vietnamese songs were on the list too) were so so new to me. We didn’t talk me as my friend was chilling with the music there.

Calmo nằm ẩn mình trên con đường Phạm Viết Chánh, Bình Thạnh, một khu phố sôi động với nhiều quán bar.

Bước vào Calmo, bạn sẽ có cơ hội thưởng thức đa dạng đồ uống ngay tại quầy bar và trò chuyện với bartender, hoặc lựa chọn ngồi tại bàn cho một, hai người, và nhóm tại không gian ấm cúng bên trong hoặc ngoài trời. Mỗi chiếc bàn được trang trí với nến, tạo nên không khí ấm áp và dịu dàng với ánh sáng le lói.

Tất cả mọi thứ tại đây đều mang một nét nhẹ nhàng, tạo cảm giác thư giãn, từ đội ngũ nhân viên thân thiện cho đến âm nhạc du dương (chủ yếu là Jazz) và ánh sáng nhẹ nhàng.

Thực đơn của Calmo mang đậm sắc thái đa dạng, và có một vài cái tên mang sự quen thuộc và thú vị, như món Canh chua miền Nam là một ví dụ (mặc dù chưa thử, nhưng sẽ thử vào dịp trở lại đây). Riêng với trải nghiệm của mình, món mocktail đã được pha chế khá ổn và giá cả cũng hợp lý (so với mặt bằng chung).

Calmo is tucked away on Pham Viet Chanh Street, Binh Thanh District, a lively neighborhood with numerous bars.

Stepping into Calmo, you have the opportunity to savor a diverse range of drinks right at the bar counter and have a chat with the bartender. Alternatively, you can choose to sit at tables for one, two, or in groups, either in the cozy indoor space or outdoors. Each table is adorned with candles, creating a warm and gentle ambiance with soft lighting.

Everything here exudes a gentle touch, providing a sense of relaxation, from the friendly staff to the soulful music, primarily Jazz, and the soft lighting.

The menu at Calmo offers a diverse range of dishes, featuring both familiar and intriguing names, such as the Southern Sour Soup as an example (although I haven't tried it yet, I intend to on my next visit). As for my personal experience, the mocktail I tried was quite well-prepared, and the prices were reasonable compared to the general market.
