RetroSaigon is a fantastic spot to hang out, whether you’re looking to relax with friends, play games, or enjoy a casual evening. The venue boasts an impressive selection of craft and local beers, along with a good range of food and cocktails. It’s a must-visit for groups of friends, casual dates, or even informal meetings.

However, my experience was significantly affected by the attitude of one staff member. While celebrating a friend’s birthday, we encountered behavior that felt unnecessarily rude and condescending. One staff member became overly familiar and began questioning our drink choices in a way that felt more judgmental than friendly. He gave my friend a hard time over how he wanted his whiskey served, insisting on a certain way and dismissing any customer preference. Worse, he made an inaccurate and offensive assumption about my friend’s nationality—assuming he was American—without offering any apology.

It’s surprising and disappointing that a venue as otherwise enjoyable as RetroSaigon would allow someone with such an unprofessional attitude to represent their brand. Hospitality is about respect and creating a welcoming atmosphere, and this staff member’s behavior did the opposite. As paying guests, we expect a basic level of courtesy, not sass and disrespect.
