YAKITORI HACHIBEI — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Went there yesterday and my experience is not as good as I thought it should be - based on all the recent ratings, I did have quite a lot of expectations. The food was okay, but the service left me a bit disappointed. First of all, the staff mistakenly brought me a mineral water I didn’t order. Later, I had to wait for a super duper awkward 5 minutes (or more) when asking for the bill. At first, I thought it was simply because they were too busy and that all staffs were occupied (hence the wait without rushing), but as time flies I saw some staffs go back to their station but paid no attention to me looking around for someone potentially bring up my bill (so I can leave lol). Only after the 2nd time asking (couldn’t bear to wait so awkwardly anymore) did someone printed out the bill for me (which took them like 1 minute max). Maybe it was because I went a lone and didn’t order much?

Not a too bad encounter, but I don’t think I will consider coming back here...

Poor Service. I Always make a call for reservation before I came buz the place is always busy. Today I called to book a table & they said their are 2 opts to seat Old restaurant or new one. I confirmed that I only want to seat in the New one. Then they say yes & book a table for 4pp at 8PM. Then we came by earlier about 7:30PM, they told me, you said you can seat any place so I let you place in the Old restaurant & you have to walk 5mins. I said No, I've booked to seat at this place @ 8PM. They ok let's me arrange the place. And they let us me wait 45mins then after all what they said :" It's our fault & give an excuse the customer won't leave so I don't have a table for you. Then what the points of making reservation. They should told me we're have no seat in the beginning. Such a waste of time. Such a unprofessional & low quality of service. Never...

Alright , it a pack little eatery that has its vibes and spirit. Very lively crowds with all nationalities. Getting a place on site really depends on your luck. Two decks , bottom with 3 tables and top deck with the bar counter and all the actions is. Loves their large bay window and décor. Food wise, fantastic meat skewers. Good offerings, great taste. Highly recommended their liver sticks. One of the best I had. It's charred grilled fragrance on the outside, yet soft and nicely done inside. The richness of liver engulfed your mouth with the pillow soft texture. Chicken on stick with egg tare is something else I would recommend for it's novelty.
