#NOTE: This restaurant may BE or is related to CHAY TABAHA, which on Google Maps is possibly a restaurant down the street (that's Gmaps in VN). Their meal menu has Tabaha clearly written on the cover. Don't ask me.

Amazeballs ambience with multiple interwoven terraces. Good presentation.

The menu is blatantly overpriced at roughly twice the going rate for the items (and that's cafe prices). But still reasonable. Check the menu pictures.

One of the younger guy staff who spoke some English was a bit clueless and (edit: very) annoying but whatever. Other ones were good.

Good hours. Open even earlier than stated hours which are already very early. I got dinner at the crack of dawn!

I asked for sour soup and a vegetable plate, and the cook unilaterally decided to add a dish to the meal which balanced it better (some greasy but quite appropriate fried noodles type dish). The cook is above average.

If you want a "what are Vietnamese restaurants about" experience this place will fill you up and fill you in.

You need to explore the place as it might not be immediately obvious what is actually extant within it. Go up the stairs out back.

They are good on condiments etc.

I suspect that the quality here may vary even though I had a good experience.

Mình gọi đồ ăn và nước uống, đồ ăn lên trước, ăn xong đến giờ đi xuống tính tiền bill có thêm cả nước + khăn giấy (trong khi khăn không thấy, nước chưa mang).

Mình bảo "nước chưa mang ra nha em", bạn tính tiền kêu "thì chị kêu sau, ăn xong mới mang ra được chứ" - kêu sau là sao? order ngay lúc đó mà, rồi nhỡ 1 đứa ăn, 1 đứa uống thì đứa uống phải ngồi chờ tới lúc đứa ăn ăn xong mới được cho nước hả?

Mình bảo vậy chưa mang ra thì trừ bill giúp mình. Bill của mình 2 phần ăn 1 phần 45k, 1 phần 75k. Đưa 500k, thối 377k??? Mình bảo tổng của mình chỉ có 120k, sao tiền tối lại lẻ. Bạn tính tiền từ đầu tới cuối mặt vẫn hầm hầm nghênh mặt bảo mình "tiền trong bill đó cộng đi chị". Mình hỏi lại 45k + 75k là bao nhiêu em. Xong vẫn nghênh mặt, gằng giọng với mình "chị tính đi chị, tiền trên bill kìa" trong khi tay cầm máy tính, trước mặt là máy tính, bấm qua bấm lại cuối cùng mới chịu thối đủ tiền.

Old-school coffee shop with vintage design. This is one of the best place in Saigon to enjoy Vietnamese old-music (pre 1975). There is live-music (piano + violin) in the weekend-nights.
