Came for dinner at 6.30pm with the family which we already called and booked table a day prior due to knowing it might get busy during the weekend. Food: We ordered pecking duck and some dim sum dishes to try. Dim sum are really ordinary and normal, not worth it for the price and taste and quality. If you want to eat cheaper but better quality dim sum then you should try Ly’s dim sum. And if you would prefer a fine dining experience with better food and ingredients, you should try Dim Tu Tac. Same goes for the pecking duck, just average quality. None of the dishes stood out.
Staff and service: oh boy, where do I start? As you could see from one of the photos below, there were not that many customers when we arrived and ordered our food and yet we received bad customer service without the restaurant having the excuse of “oh sorry we are too busy to attend to you”. Ordered three drinks and one drink has arrived at the beginning of the meal. The other two drinks did not get served until we almost finished our dinner. We reminded staff three times including complaining to their supervisor and the fourth time I just cracked it and yet no apology from any of the staff including the supervisor. Supervisor got really bad attitude. If you want to charge high prices like ‘almost fine dining’, you really need to keep up with the service provided when your food quality is not that great but yet you failed on both aspects. When we asked for the bill, staff again did not check what was used and just went ahead and charged us for everything including extra wet towels and the peanut entree we never touched. When we checked the bill and asked staff, again no apology but we got blamed for “oh because you never told us you only used 3 wet towels instead of 7 (mind you we only had 5 people) and we thought you ate the peanuts”. The kind of treatment and service we received made me wonder if we were dining at one of the food stalls at Ben Thanh market not at a restaurant. I would never return to this restaurant location alone and all of their locations in general. If I want cheaper price and better tasting food, I know places to go and if I want a fine dining experience and expensive food but worth it, I also know other places that I could go. This place is just mediocre food and bad service. Avoid...
Read moreService was terrible given its high price point. I wanted to dine at a spot that is away from the entrance because the mall was very noisy. However, we were told by the male manager that the area we wanted to dine at were reserved. We were place right at the entrance. It turns out to be a lie, after dining for almost 2 hours, nobody turned up to occupy the inner tables... The restaurant was also quite empty throughout the Sunday evening when we were there.
You would have to check the bill carefully because they wouldn't check if you have consumed the wet tisssues or peanuts. We were told that "they did not know" when the items were right there on the table.
Food was below average, definitely below the quality that you could get from their Singapore branches. Do not try their scallop dumplings, they were tasteless. The white fugus dessert were also quite bad, it white fugus taste like it wasn't hydrated properly.
The speed of dishes being served also varied. Some customers who came before us who ordered similar dishes got served before us. The "Call for Service" button on the ipad did not work.
Given the high price point, below-average food and bad service. I would not recommend this place. There are many better chinese restaurants...
