Dim Tu Tac — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I would give this place a 4.5/5 but there isnt an option. The food was pretty good. Service was good. It wasn't exceptional, but it's great for the price. Some items are a hit. Others could have been better. Some of the things I really enjoyed: The ha gow (shrimp dumplings) were very good. You can taste the Hong Kong roots. I feel like the meat mixture was marinated in a rice wine or something to accentuate the seafood flavor. The Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) were expertly made. The skin was as thin as possible while keeping it strong enough to hold the broth. Excellent. But you have to ask for extra ginger as the sauce comes with very little. The Daikon cakes are excellent with the egg. I really enjoyed the beancurd wrapped shrimp as well. The pork ribs was the usual affair. The bad: The classic Sui Mai was nothing to write home about. Almost lacking in quality. The beef ribs which was on the special menu I thought was going to be a hit, but the beef quality was poor. The sauce was overly salty. Other than that, I highly recommend this place. It's one of the better dim sum places. It's clean and well deserving of a visit. Bad foods and services. Terrible experience! When I arrived, the security told us asking if there still lasted something to eat. The waitresses and waiters were not very nice. They brought 2 dishes chicken feet and roasted pork. Both were very salty! roasted pork was cracked at cover but too much salt. Chicken feet were cold and too much salt as well. Then they said the kitchen were closed now and they couldn’t change dishes. They canceled roasted pork. while chicken feet they ignored. We asked for order another dishes but they refused due to closing kitchen. Seems most waiters and waitress had dinner in a guest’s table and didn’t care about customers. We had dinner with lots salt and then I had a stomached until now that I think cause of chicken feet. I’m very depressed with the terrible experience there even though I used to very pleased with another Dim tu tac branch. I think I will never try this...
