It was my first time eating here and will not eat here again. I was walking around looking for a place to have lunch by myself. I saw this old and running down condition restaurant and there is water clogging in front of it. I decided to walk straight but then I looked on the other side of its restaurant, they have the clean sitting area; I decided to try it out. I asked the waitress to recommend something house special for on person. Then she recommended the stir-fried glass noodles with crab. I ordered and thanked her. The cook brought the food out about 20 minutes later. I saw the big pot with the whole crab. I told the waitress how can I eat all this, especially with the whole crab. She told me to used the cracker. I was getting hot because I am not used to the weather, so I turned the fan to me. I worked with the claws and ate some noodles, then asked her to put in the togo. Then she brought me the bill for 855k vnd, including the 3k for the togo box. I was shocked at the bill. This is my biggest bill for lunch in Vietnam for the last 6 months. So I told them I don’t have vnd for that much. They told me to do bank transfer, but my bank is low. So I asked to pay US dollars. They didn’t want to accept it. So I ask to call the owner. The owner is Malaysian and the wife is Vietnamese. The wife came and said her husband is not home, so I had to talk to her. I told her the situation, then she said both sides have fault but I still have to pay. So I asked her to pay with UD dollars, she said ok, then she gave me about 100k vnd lower than the market value with all the negative reasons. So I had to contact my nephew to transfer money to my account to pay them in vnd. This is a very bad experience for me just to have a simple lunch. And it wasted so much of my time there with the hot weather. My recommendation is to be sure to ask for the prices when they recommend any...
Read moreCame here the second time. The first i was ordering bak kuh teh and it was ok. The owner tell us the signature was chicken rice so i went there again bringing my aunty for her birthday. We ordered chicken rice for 2, 1 bak kuh teh, 1 sambal fried veggies, and 1 seafood fried noodle. I personally dont like the chicken rice, first the rice was too dried for my preferences. Maybe some others prefer the rice this way so i rated it bases on my personal preference. The staff was friendly and quick to response. The owner also very friendly checking us every once in a while.
We ordered quite a lot so we have to take the left over to go. Still, i cant believe they charged 3000vnd per to go box. I dont understand why to be honest. We ordered food from the restaurant and we should be charged extra if i want to bring my left...
