• Atmosphere: 4/5 Mamma Mia is in a beautiful, picturesque location right by the Saigon River. We visited with another couple for Valentine’s Day and really enjoyed the outdoor seating with the river view. However, if you’re sensitive to smells, you might want to avoid sitting right by the water, as there are occasional odors coming from the river. Additionally, multiple nearby restaurants have live bands, and the music tends to overlap, which can make for a slightly chaotic soundscape rather than a relaxing ambiance. • Service: 3.5/5 The staff was clearly working hard, as we noticed them constantly running around attending to tables. However, the service felt somewhat disorganized. Our starters arrived almost at the same time as our main courses, except for the seafood BBQ plate, which came out 15-20 minutes after everything else. By the time it arrived, we had already finished our main dishes. Getting the bill was another challenge—it took another 15-20 minutes before we could settle up. Sitting by the river also made it difficult to flag down a server when needed. • Food: 3/5 We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Greek and Thai beef salads, sweet and sour fish, pizza, chicken pesto pasta, and the seafood BBQ plate. Overall, the food was mediocre in flavor. The chicken pesto pasta was quite bland,I had to request salt to add some flavor. The pizza had a cardboard-like texture, and while the pizza itself was edible, it wasn’t anything special. The Greek salad was heavily overdressed and had very little feta or olives, which made it disappointing. The sweet and sour fish was the most flavorful and enjoyable dish of the meal.
Final Thoughts: Mamma Mia is worth visiting for the beautiful location and relaxing outdoor seating, but be aware that the food leans more toward Vietnamese-style Italian rather than authentic Italian cuisine. The service, while well-intentioned, could use better organization, and the food quality doesn’t fully match the stunning setting. If you prioritize the atmosphere over the dining experience, you might still...
Read moreSurprisingly, the foods we got are so good. I couldn’t get enough of the lobster spaghetti. The calzone is also very worth the price. We decided to try the fried milk squid and it was actually good too although that one was a little pricey. The view is very nice as expected of Binh Khanh. I love both the outdoor and indoor seats. It was romantic. The staff were very well-spoken,attentive, and polite. Tye price is also affordable compared to other Italian restaurants. The menu doesn’t only offer italian foods though but you will find a few Vietnamese and Thai dishes that threw in. This place deserves a 5-star and will always come back...
Read moreI would rate the place 2,5 as per the low standards: service and food quality… They served food without setting the table (no plate, knives and spoon for everyone). The menu is not cheap, around 200/300k for a pizza or pasta, 110k for a pumpkin soup… Pizza bread is lacking of salt and taste in my opinion, same for the pumpkin soup… The waiter was nice and spoke English, but literally put dirty dishes from other tables on our table when he started to...
