I bought the meal to-go. I have dined in so many times and the food was good while service was just so so. Today was a disappointment: first extra rice came in a plastic bag that is not suitable for hot food. It smelled terrible so I had to throw it away. Secondly the server told me there was not much rice,just a regular bowl like how I dine in,but turned out they stuff more rice for a to-go order just to charge me VND 13k for the extra rice. And then he did not give me any black sauce and char-siu sauce. It ruined the whole meal. The whole thing cost VND 89k which could have been around 75. Not a huge difference,but service was way sub par. I would never get a to-go order from here ever again. This place has a huge menu, a lots of dishes for you to choose. Well, they may be all good, delicious, but not excellent. Their signature, Hainanese Chicken Rice, is good, the chicken is very tender and naturally sweet, the rice is soft and delicious, the ginger fish sauce is just right, all combined to be a very decent dish... But, for $2, you might find that this dish is too small, only a handful of rice, 4 small pieces of chicken, and they are a bit of cool, too.
