We came here for lunch today. I ordered tonkotsu ramen 3 with sesame salad, and my friend ordered Udon with beef and egg king kong size. Please note, I have had tonkotsu ramen in Japan few times so it was evitable for me not to compare with the one in Japan. Here is my personal rating. Tonkotsu: 3/5 for the taste. The broth was less creamy than the ones I had in Japan even I select the most flavorful option for the broth. I chose medium chewy option for the noodles and they were ok. The pork slices were rather chewy than soft and tender like the one in Japan. The egg was boiled to perfection. However, there was no cloud ear fungus. I would not expect the broth had to be the same with the one in Japan since different chefs from different countries have different recipes. However, I expected more creamy and richer taste for the broth. My sesame sald was much smaller than the one in picture. The dressing was a little strong to me but it was not bad. I would give it 3.8/5. My friend did enjoy his udon. The bowl was very big. It was really a king kong size. We also ordered 3 fried potstickers, but I did not eat it so I can't commend on it. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I would give 5/5 for the staff. The place was clean and a little crowded. Try to sit in the front. The back seemd claustrophobic to me. There was a big promotion sign in front of the shop about scratch lottery for an iphone. The TV inside also played the ad about this promotion over and over but when I asked a staff about it, she said that promotion was expired already. They should have removed the sign and updated the ad on the TV to avoid misleading the customers. If I come back here again, I would rather order something else but not...
Read moreI recently dined at Kohaku Ramen and Udon and had a mixed experience. The highlight for me was their Tonkotsu ramen, which, while delicious, didn't quite hit the mark in terms of the traditional richness and fat content typically expected in the soup base. However, it's worth noting that the protein servings were notably generous, adding a satisfying heartiness to the meal.
Unfortunately, the dining experience fell short in terms of menu availability. Several of the combo meals and drinks listed on the menu weren't available, which was a bit disappointing. For instance, Combo 3 was not an option due to the absence of rice, limiting the choices for a complete meal experience.
The beverage options also faced similar limitations. I was particularly looking forward to trying the kumquat tea, a unique offering that piqued my interest, but it was unavailable. Additionally, even basic options like Dasani water were not in stock, which added to the inconvenience.
In summary, while Kohaku Ramen and Udon offers commendable dishes with generous protein portions, the shortfall in fulfilling the menu offerings detracted from the overall dining experience. The restaurant excels in certain areas but has room for improvement in ensuring menu availability and variety to meet customer...
Read moreThe food is excellent, but the quality of service is problem.
We went there as 2 on Saturday evening and had to wait for more than 10 minutes for a table. We ordered a combo including 2 udon noodles, 2 drinks, and 1 fried chicken.
The first dish that was brought to us was the chicken. The staff placed the food on the table and immediately walked away, without paying any attention to the fact that our table was empty, there were no utensils or condiment bottles. We had to ask for everything, and I even had to request a napkin after finishing the chicken. The drinks were brought out much late, when the staff saw us and suddenly remembered something.
The weekends are quite busy with customers, but there are also many staffs. Need to reconsider their approach to serving customers to provide a...
